AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, APPENDIX E,
ARTICLE I, STANDARDS OF DESIGN RELATIVE TO
SERVICE LINES; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE
NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($500. 00) AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL BE

WHICH AN OFFENSE OCCURS OR CONTINUES; PROVID-
ING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN
�, EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section 1 . That Appendix E, Article I of the City Code of
the City of Grapevine, Texas, relating to Standards of Design is
hereby amended in the following particulars and all other
sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, definitions,
phrases and words of said Code of Ordinances is not amended, but
shall remain intact and is hereby ratified, verified, and
affirmed.
Section 2. That the City Code, Appendix E, Article I,
Standards of Design, Item 4 . 4 relative to Service Lines is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"4. 4 A water service line shall be laid to each 1ot
with fittings in accordance with the
specifications for construction of (Article 3 of
�`�"' this Appendix and the standard details) . Al1
service lines shall be Type K copper having a
minimum size of one (1) inch. At the subdividers
option, a service line may serve two adjacent
lots provided it be a one and one-half (1 1/2)
inch and it is located at the common property
line and complies with the standard details.
Meter boxes to be furnished by the City shall be
set level to the finish lot grades and an angle
meter stop shall be set by the contractor about
twelve (12) inches below the meter box top.
After the curb and gutter has been installed the
water service line shall be marked by inscribing
a "W" in the top of the curb opposite the service
line location. "
Section 3. Any person violatinq any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not to exceed Five
Hundred Dollars ($500 . 00) for each offense and a separate offense
shall be deemed committed upon each day during or on which a
violation occurs or continues.
Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence,
�'' clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereto
any person or circumstance, is held invalid or unconstitutional
by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not
°«� affect the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance;
and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such
remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5 . The fact that the present ordinances and
regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to
properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general
welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas,
creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of public
business, property, health, safety, and general welfare of the
public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective
from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so
ordained.
