AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS, DESIGNATING S'I�OP �NTERSECTIONS AT THE FOLLOWING
IACATIONS: INTERSECTION OF EAST BOUND TRAFFIC ON HAYDENBEND
CIRCLE AT BAZE ROAD, AT TFiE INTERSECTION OF EAST BOUND
TRAFFIC ON ALTACREST DRIVE AT BAZE ROAD, AT THE INTERSECTION
OF EAST BOUND TRAFFIC ON 90UTHWEST GRAPEVINE PARKWAY AT

NCff2TH BOUND TRAFFIC ON 90UTHWEST GRAPEVINE PARKWAY AT
MUSTANG DRIVE, AND AT THE INTERSECTION OF EAST BOUND TRAFFIC
�,� ON GRAYSON DRIVE AT SOUTHWEST GRAPEVINE PARKWAY; DIRECTING
THE ERECTION OF NECESSARY SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS C[2DINANCE � TAKE EFFECT UPON THE
ERECTION OF THE NECESSARY SIGNS; PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED TfiE SUM OF Zi�TO HUNDRED DOLLARS (�200.00) FOR EACH
OFFENSE AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL BE DEEMED CONIl'4IZTED
UPON EACH DAY DURING QR ON WHICH A VIOLATION OCCURS;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILI'I'Y CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMII2GENCY AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
thereinafter referred to as the "City"), is enpowered under Verrion's
Annotated Texas Civil Statutes ("V.A.T.C.S.") Article 1015 to do all acts
and make all regulations which may be necessary or expedient for the
promotion of the public health; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City is authorized under
V.A.T.C.S. Article. 6701d, Section 26 and Section 27 to adopt local
traffic regulations with respect to streets and highways under its
jurisdiction, which includes authoriztion to designate stop
intersections; and
"��� ��� WfiEREAS, the City Council of the City is authorized under
V.A.T.C.S. Article 6701d, Section 9 to erect stop signs at specified
�,.� entrances to highways under its jursidiction and designate any
intersections as stop intersections and erect like signs at one or more
entrances to such intersections; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City has heretofore designated
certain stop intersections within the City and now desires to designate
additional stop intersections; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City has heretofore found and
determined that the designation of the specified intersections as stop
intersections as hereinafter specified is necessary for the promotion of
the health, safety and welfare of the City and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and
correct and are incorporated into the body of this Ordinance as if copied
in their entirety.
Section 2. That it is hereby provided that a stop sign shall be

erected at the following intersections and such intersections are hereby
designated as stop intersections. Every driver of a vehicle and every
motorman of a street car approaching a stop intersection shall stop
before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or, in
�� the event there is no crosswalk, shall stop at a clearly marked stop
line, but if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway
where the driver has a view of the approaching traffic on the
intersecting roadway before entering the intersection, except when
directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic control signal, and it
shall be unlawful for any driver of any vehicle to fail to stop as above
directed. The stop intersections are as follows:
l. East bound traffic on Haydenbend Circle at Baze Road;
2. East bound traffic on Altacrest Drive at Baze Road;
3. East bound traffic on Southwest Grapevine Parkway at State
� Highway 121 Frontage Road;
4. North bound traffic on Southw�est Grapevine Parkway at Mustang
Drive; and
5. East bound traff ic on Grayson Drive at Southwest Grapevine
Parkway.
�.� Section 3. �hat stop and yield right-of-way signs in conformity
with the manual and specifications for uniform traffic control devices as
ad�ted by the State Highway Crnrmission shall be, and the same hereby are
directed to be erected at the locations specified in Section 2 of this
Ordinance.
Section 4. Zfiat the City Manager, the Chief of Police or such
representative as either of said officials may appoint, is hereby
authorized and directed to cause the appropriate signs to be posted and
maintained giving notice of the stop and yield sign locations specified
in Section 2 of this Ordinance.
Section 5. �at the provisions of this Ordinance shall take effect
upon the posting of the signs directed by Section 4 of this Ordinance.
Section 6. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be subject to a fine in a sum not to exceed two hundred
dollars ($200.00) for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed
canmitted upon each day during or on which a violation occurs.
Section 7. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this Ordinance, or application thereto any person or
circumstances is held invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of canpetent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining
,�-z portions of this Ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares it would
have passed such remaining portions of this Ordinance despite such
invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and
`'��� ef f ect.
Section 8. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of
the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to properly safeguard the
health, safety, morals, peace and general welfare of the inhabitants of
the City of Grapevine, Texas, creates an emergency for the immediate
preservation of the public business, property, health, safety, and
general welfare of the public which requires that this Ordinance .become
effective from and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so
ordained.
