AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER �3 , SECTION 27
OF THE CITY CODE OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS BY
SPECIFYING THE REASONABLE AND PRUDENT
SPEED FOR A CERTAIN AREA TO BE DESIG-
NATED AS A SCHOOL ZONE; AND AMENDING
� CHAPTER 23 , SECTION 63 PROHIBITING PARK-
ING AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS DESCRIBED
HEREIN; AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF

TRAFFIC REGULATION SIGNS; REPEALING
COIv'FLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 .00) AND A SEPARATE
OFFENSE SHALL BE DEEMED COMMITTED UPON
EACH DAY DURING OR ON WHICH A VIOLATION
OCCURS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE GITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section l . That Chapter 23, Section 27 of the City Code of
the City of Grapevine, Texas , is hereby amended by designating a
twenty (20) mile per hour speed limit to be in effect on school
days during the hours of 7 :00 a.m. through 9 :00 a.m, and 2 : 00
p.m. through 4 :00 p.m. as follows :
(A) By deleting the existing reference which reads : West
College Street from the intersection of Drexel Drive to

the intersection of Ridge Road, and
(B) By inserting a reference to read as follows: West
College Street from the intersection of Ball Street to
� � the intersection of Azalea Drive.
Section 2. That Chapter 23, Sectian 63 , of the City Code of
the City of Grapevine, Texas , is hereby amended to include the
, following No Parking designation:
West College Street, north side, no parking between Ridge
Road and Drexel Drive on school days between the hours of
7 :00 a.m. and 4 :00 p.m.
Section 3 . That the City Manager, or his agent, is hereby
authorized to have the proper traffic signs erected, constructed,
and placed at such points along said highways, streets or alleys,
or portions thereof under construction, maintenance, or repair,
so that travelers will be reasonably notified of said traffic
regulations.
Section 4 . That all ordinances or any parts thereof in
conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and hereby are
deemed repealed and of no farce or effect provided, however, that
the ordinance or ordinances under which the cases currently filed
"�""" and pending in the Nunicipal Court of the City of Grapevine,
Texas, shall be deemed repealed only when all such cases filed
and pending under such ordinance or ordinances have been disposed
�,,, of by a final conviction or a finding not guilty of nolo con-
tendere, or dismissal.
Secti.or. 5 . Any person, firm, or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction in the Municipal Court, shall be
fined in an amount not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars
($200 .00) for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs .
Section 6 . If any section, paraqraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be judged invalid or
unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
ordinance as a whole or any portion thereof other than that
portion so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional .
Section 7 . The fact that the traffic requlations of the
City of Grapevine, Texas do not adequately regulate the traffic
within the City creates an urgency and an emergency and the
� preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare requires
that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after
its passage and the publication of the caption of said ordinance

as the law and the City Charter in such cases provides.
