ORDINANCE NO. 84-75
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND VACATING A
PORTION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY OF TURNER ROAD
IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY

WHEREAS , the owner of property abutting a portion of Turner
� Road in the City of Grapevine, Texas has requested a portion of
right-of-way of Turner Road, as hereinafter described, be
abandoned and vacated; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the right-of-way of said street, as
hereinafter described, is not now needed for public use and will
not be needed in the future for public use; and
WHEREAS, abandoning and vacating a portion of the right-of-
way of said street will relieve the City of Grapevine, Texas from
, the cost and expense of maintaining said property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1 . That the portion of right-of-way of Turner Road
located within the property described in Exhibit "A" , attached
and incorporated herein for all purposes, is hereby abandoned and
vacated for public use, and the same is hereby abandoned and
vacated insofar as all public right, title, and interest in and
� to said described portion of said right-of-way is concerned.
� Section 2. That the Mayor, be, and is hereby authorized to
execute a Quitclaim Deed to evidence release of the City' s
interest in the heretofore described property to the owner of the
property abutting said right-of-way, Orion Investments, Inc. ,
Mohammad Safdar, President, who officially declared by affidavit
that they are the rightful owner of the underlying fee title to
the right-of-way vacated and abandoned by this ordinance.
Section 3 . That the terms and provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed to be severable, and that if the validity of any
section, subsection, word, sentence, or phrase shall be held to
be invalid, it shall not affect the remaining part of this
ordinance.
Section 4 . The fact that said portion of right-of-way of
Turner Road is no longer needed by the public for public usage or
traveling and would create a hardship or burden upon the City of
Grapevine to keep open and maintain such right-of-way creates an
urgency and an emergency for the immediate preservation of the
public health, safety, and general welfare, which requires that
this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
TURNER ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY ABANDONMENT
5aid right-of-way being the northernmost ten (10) feet
of right-of-way of Turner Road originally dedicated to
the City of Grapevine, Texas with the plat of .W. R.
Boyd Center recorded in Volume 388-50 , Pag� 90 of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas.
Said ten (10) feet of right-of-way extending between
the east right-of-way line of Dooley Street and the
west right-of-way line of Boyd Drive .
