AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, BY AMEND- �
ING CHAPTER 23 , SECTION 30 ADDING STOP
SIGNS AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS DESCRIBED
HEREIN AND BY AMENDING CHAPTER 23 , SEC-
TION 63 PROHIBITING PARKING IN SPECIFIC
DESIGNATED LOCATIONS; REPEALING CON-
FLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY
NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF T�90 HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($200 . 00) AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE
SHALL BE DEEMED CONiMITTED UPON EACH DAY
DURING OR ON WHICH A VIOLATION OCCURS;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That Chapter 23 , Section 30 of the City Code of
the City of Grapevine, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a stop
sign at the following described location:
A. On Eastbound Anderson-Gibson Road at State Highway 26.
Section 2. That Chapter 23 , Section 63 of the City Code of
the City of Grapevine , Texas , is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Parking shall be prohibited at all times at the following
locations:
Anderson-Gibson Road (County Road 3044) , both sides,
beginning 1 , 274 . 9 feet west of its intersection with State
Highway 26 and extending west a distance of 50 . 0 feet;
thence North a distance of 336 . 00 feet.
Section 3. That the City Manager , or his agent, is hereby
authorized to have said signs erected, constructed, and placed at
such points as indicated herein.
Section 4 . That all ordinances or any parts thereof in
conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and hereby are
deemed repealed and of no force or effect provided, however, that
the ordinance or ordinances under which the cases currently filed
and pending in the P�iunicipal Court of the City of Grapevine,
Texas, shall be deemed repealed only when all such cases filed
and pending under such ordinance or ordinances have been disposed
of by a final conviction, or a finding not guilty of nolo con-
tendere, or dismissal.
Section 5 . Any person violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not to exceed Two
Hundred Dollars ($200 . 00) and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs or
continues.
Section 6 . If any section, article, paragraph, sentence,
clause , phrase , or word in this ordinance or application thereto
any person or circumstance is held invalid or unconstitutional by
a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinances; and the
City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining
portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity, which remain-
ing portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 7 . The fact that the present ordinances and regu-
lations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to pro-
perly safeguard the health, safety, morals , peace , and general
welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine , Texas ,
creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of public
business , property, health, safety, and general welfare of the
public, which requires that this ordinance shall become effective
from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so
ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this 21st day of February, 1984.
