AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS
AMENDING CHAPTER 25, S�CTION 25-25 OF THE CITY CODE
RELATING TO UTILITY PRO RATA RATES; PROVIDING FOR
CERTAIN SPECIFIC INCREASES IN CHARGES; PROVIDING AN
� EFFECTNE DATE FOR THE INCREASED CHAI�GES; PROVIDING
A PENALTY; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas,
Chapter 25, Section 25-25, is hereby revised and sh�ll hereafter read in its
entirety as follows:
"Section 25-25. Same—Pro Rata Rates.
A charge shall be made against each lot or tract of land and the
owner thereof whose water and/or wastewater line shall be
connected with any water main and/or wastewater main in the
City, and the charge shall be made at the following rates:
Per acre of development for wastewater connections. . . . $265.00
Per acre of development for water conneetions. . . . . . . $200.00"
SECTION 2. That Section 25-25 dealing with an increase in pro rata
charges shall be effective on the 1st day of March, 1983 and shall apply to all
requests for water and/or waste water service requested on or after said date.
SECTION 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdeameanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be
fined $1.00 to �200.00.
SECTION 4. If any section, sentence, phrase, word, paragraph, or
provisions of this ordinance or the application of that section, sentence, phrase,
word, paragraph, or provisions to any person, situation, or circumstances is for
any reason adjudged invalid, the adjudication shall not affect any other section,
sentence, phrase, word, paragraph, or provision of the Grapevine City Code. The
City Council declares that it would have adopted the valid portions and
applications of this ordinance without the invalid part, and to this end the
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the
City of Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health,
safety, morals, peace, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of
Grapevine, Texas creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of public
business property health, safety, and general welfare of the public, which
requires that this ordinance shall become effective from and after the date of
its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
