Shirle Arm r City Secre ry � � STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on this the 6th day of April, �,,,, 1981 at 4 : 30 P.M. , in the Council Chambers, with the following persons present to-wit: ' William D. Tate Mayor '''�' Ted R. Ware Mayor Pro-Tem C.L. "Larry" Oliver Council Member Charles Dunn Council Member Aulton D. Mullendore Council Member William Shafer Council Member Marion Brekken Council Member constituting a quorum with the following members of the City Staff: James L. Hancock City Manager Shirley Armstrong City Secretary with City Attorney, John Boyle and Assistant City Manager, Bill Eisen absent. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Tate called the meeting to order. INVOCATION � The Invocation was delivered by Councilman Dunn. �` RESOLUTION, CANVASSING BALLOTS , RUN-OFF ELECTION Mayor Tate advised that the special meeting had been called for the purpose of considering a resolution can- vassing the ballots of the April 4 , 1981 City Officer ' s Election and calling a run-off election. City Secretary, Shirley Armstrong then provided the Council with the following election results : PLACE 5 Ted Ware--------------------451 Huey Thomas-----------------215 Floy Ezell (write-in) ------- 2 PLACE 6 Ron Dyer--------------------250 Aulton D. Mullendore--------346 Brent McPherson------------- 63 „�. Laurence Crapo-------------- 35 Herbert Huber (write-in) ---- 2 TOTAL VOTES CAST------------------698 � Mrs. Armstrong also advised that for the purpose of absentee voting, 150 ballots were printed, 35 were used for absentee balloting, and 115 ballots had been 04/06/81 accounted for by the Office of the City Secretary. Possible dates for the run-off election were then dis- cussed. Following a short discussion, Councilman Aulton Mullendore made a motion to adopt the resolution, declaring the results of the April 4, 1981 City Officer � s Election, and calling the Run-off Election for April 25, 1981. The motion was seconded by Councilman Shafer and pre- � vailed by the following vote: Ayes : Tate, Ware, Oliver, Shafer, Mullendore, Brekken, �r & Dunn Nays : None RESOLUTION NO. 81-9 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE APRIL 4 , 1981 CITY OFFICERS ELECTION AND CALLING A RUN-OFF ELECTION FOR APRIL 25 , 1981. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Shafer made a motion to adjourn.
