CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayc►r Tate.
INVOC..ATION
Councilman Doil Dalton delivered the Invocatian.

RES4LUTION - SUSPENDING TP&L RATES �

2he first ozder of business was for the City Council to ccansider J
a resolution suspending Texas Fower & Light rate increase re-
quest for a period of 3C? days.
The City Manager explained that in January, 1978 the Council had
passed a resolution suspending the proposed TP&L rates for a
period af 120 days, (ending on May 26, 1978) . He advised that
sinee that time, the Public Utility Cornmission had progosed to
grant an increa�e in revenues to TP&L in the approximate amount
of $4� mil2ion. He further advised tMat the Touche-Ross &
' Company study (in w�nich the City o:E Grapevine particpated) had
recammer�ded an increase in revenues of approxxmately $35 million.
The City Manager then acknawledged that the Council either needed
to pass a resalution suspending the rates for an additional 3(�
days, or pass the oacdinance on secand reading which wcauld appxove
a rate ir�crease of $35 million. '
The City Secretary explained the cc►nterits of the propr�sed
resolution. After a short discussion in which Mr. Gary Johnson,
TP&L representative partici.pated, Councilman Florence made a
mation to adopt the resoiutian suspendin9 TP&L rates for an
° additional 30 days. The motion was seconded by Counca.lman Dalton
and failed by the following vote:
Ayes; Florence, Dalton

� ORDINANCE TP&L RATES. 2ND READING
{ The City Secretary read the capt�on of the proposed ordinance.
i Councilman Dunn made a motion to adopt the ordinance on second
� reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Oliver and pre-
� vailed by the following vote:

Nays: Dalton

� AN ORDINANCE APPROVING RATE SCH�DULES TO BE CHARGED
'� BY TEXAS POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY IN THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR AN ERFECTIVE DATE
ROR SUCH RATE SCHEDULES, AND PROVIDING CONDITIONS �
UNDER WHICH SUCH RATE SCHEDULES MAY BE CHEII�TGED,
MODIFIED, AMENDED OR WITHDRAWN.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
; Councilman Florence made a motion to adjourn. Themotion was
; seconded by Councilman Oliver and all present voted aye.
