SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR NEWSBANK
SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of an annual contract for NewsBank
services with NewsBank, Inc. for the Library.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund, Library and Audiovisual Supplies
for an estimated amount of $22,919.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
consolidated current and archived information from thousands of
newspapers and other publications for the Library. The NewsBank, Inc.
company has been a premier information provider for more than 45 years
and provides excellent customer service which meets the diverse needs of
library customers.
This renewal will be made in accordance with Local Government Code
Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (B) (E),
library materials.
Staff recommends approval.
