RESOLUTION NO. 85-16
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 84-08 RELATING TO THE ES-
TABLISHMENT OF A MAIN STREET COMMITTEE BY AMENDING
SECTIONS 3A AND 3B RELATIVE TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE
MAIN STREET COMMITTEE, AND BY AMENDING SECTION 3E
RELATNE TO �UORUM OF THE COMMITTEE; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTNE DATE.
WHEREAS, the members of the Main Street Committee (the
"Committee") have requested the City Council of the City of Grapevine to
increase the number of inembers serving on the Committee by adding nine
additional members; and
WHEREAS, additional members are needed to increase the technical
expertise of the Committee, to provide a broader base of knowledge of the
community, to create subcommittees adequate in size to work on individual
projects, and to encourage more interest and involvement in the Main Street
Program by the community; and
WI�EREAS, the City Council finds and determines that an increase in the
number of inembers serving on the Committee would aid in the accomplishment
of the various purposes of' the Committee.
NOW, THEREFOI�.E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CI`�'Y OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the matters stated in the preamble are found to
be true and correct and are incorporated into this Resolution as if copied in

their entirety.
Section 2. That Section 3A of Resolution No. 84-08 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"A. The Committee shall consist of eighteen (18) members.
The Committee members shall be residents of Grapevine;
however, if no resident meeting the special requirements
outlined as follows wishes to serve, a non-resident of the
City may be appointed. Two (2) members shall be
representatives of financial institutions located in the City
of Grapevine; two (2) members Shall be owners of businesses
located in the Central Business District; one (1) member
shall be an architect knowledgeable in the field of historic
preservation; one (1) member shall �e a representative of
the Iocal or county historical society or commission; one (1)
rneme�er shall be an accountant; one (1) member shall be a
member of the Grapevine City Council or the City Staff;
one (1) member sha11 be a real estate broker licensed in the
State of Texas; one (1) member shall be an insurance agent
licensed in the State of Texas; one (1) member shall be the
owner and landlord of a building; one (1) member shall be a
��� representative of a local utility; one (1) member shall be a
representative from the City of Grapevine school system;
� one (1) member shall be a representative from a local media
operating within the City of Grapevine; one (1) member shall
be a representative of the Convention and Visitor's Bureau;
and two (2) members shall be citizens of the City of
Grapevine. The Main Street Project Director emplo�ed by
the City of Grapevine shall also be a member of the
Committee."
Section 3. That Section 3B of Resolution No. 84-08 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"B. Appointments shall be made by the Grapevine City
Council except that the representative of the Convention and
Visitor's Bureau shall be apoointed by the members of the
Cor.vention and Visitor's Bureau and affirmed by the Grapevine
°� City Council. Appointments by the Grapevine City Council shall
be for a term of two (2) years from the date of appointment, and
in the case of the representative of the Convention and Visitor's
,�.,�, Bureau, the term shall be two (2) years from the date of
affirmation by the Grapevine City Council."
Section 4. That Section 3E of Resolution No. 84-08 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"E. Ten (10) members of the Committe shall constitute a
quorum. The Committee shall act on a majority vote of those
members present."
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be effective from and after the date
of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COL'NCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, this the 19th day of March , 1985.
