A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVID-
ING FOR THE 1982 CITY OFFICERS ' ELEC-
TION TO BE HELD ON APRIL 3, 1982;
DETERMINING THE POLLING PLACE;
APPOINTING AN ELECTION JUDGE; AND
PROVIDING SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR
THE CONDUCT OF SAID ELECTION
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Grapevine, Texas
provides that on the next ensuing first Saturday in April,
there shall be elected the following officials for the said
City of Grapevine:

COUNCIL, Place No. 1
COUNCIL, Place No. 2
WHEREAS, said Charter further provides that the election
code of the State of Texas is applicable to said election,
and in order to comply with said code an order should be
passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said
election, and designating the voting place for said election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :

Section l. That the Regular City Election for the City
of Grapevine is hereby called for April 3 , 1982 for the fol-
lowing:

Section 2. All eligible City of Grapevine voters shall
cast their ballots at Grapevine Middle School, 730 East
Worth, between the hours of 7 : 00 a.m. and 7 : 00 p.m.
Section 3. All absentee balloting shall be conducted
pursuant to and in accordance with the applicable provisions
of the State of Texas Election Code.
Section 4. The Chief Election Judge shall be Jerry
Spencer. Said Election Judge shall have the ability to hire
up to four (4) deputies to assist in holding the election.
The Chief Election Judge shall also serve as the presiding
judge of the Special Canvasing Board for the purpose of count-
�;� ing the absentee paper ballots. Two or more of the clerks
serving at the polling place shall make up the members of the
Board.
Section 5. All candidates must file their application
to become candidates with the Mayor in the Office of the City
Secretary of said City at City Hall, Grapevine, Texas, on or
before the 30th day from the date of said election. That all
of the said applications shall be on a form approved by the
City Secretary and shall be in compliance with the City Char-
ter and the State Election Code.
That the City Secretary shall post in her office the
names of all candidates who have filed their applications in
accordance with the terms and provisions of this order, and
said names shall be posted for at least ten (10) days before
said City Secretary orders the same to be printed on the
ballot for said election.
Section 6. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and
. instructed to provide and furnish all necessary supplies and
' personnel to conduct said election. Said supplies and per-
sonnel shall be furnished at the expense of the General Fund
of the City of Grapevine, Texas.

Section 7. The City Secretary is hereby instructed to
publish notice of said election once in a newspaper of gen-
eral circulation not more than twenty-five (25) days before
the election and not less than eleven (11) days before the
election.
Section 8. This Resolution shall repeal every prior
resolution in conflict herewith, but only insofar as the
portion of such resolution shall be in conflict and as to
all other sections of resolutions not in direct conflict
herewith, this resolution shall be and is hereby made cumu-
lative.
Section 9. The Mayor shall issue all necessary orders,
writs , and notices for said election and the returns of said
election shall be made to the City Council immediately after
the close of the polls and the completion of the counting of
the ballots.
