A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVID-
ING THAT BIDS WERE PROPERLY TAKEN AND
REVIEWED FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MATRIX
PRINTER; PROVIDING THAT THE BID BE
�, AWARDED TO A FIRM OTHER THAN THE LOW
BIDDER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE

WHEREAS, the City Administrator was authorized and
directed and did in fact advertise for bids for the purchase
of a matrix printer in accordance with specifications; and
WHEREAS, two (2) bids were received and reviewed from
International Business Machines Corporation and Leas Pak
International; and
WHEREAS, the bids have been analyzed and closely re-
viewed by the City Administration; and
WHEREAS, even though the bid from Leas Pak International
was lower in price by $1 ,595. 00 , the detailed analysis of all
aspects of the bid has caused the City Administration to
recommend the bid be awarded to International Business Ma-
chines Corporation, the second lowest bidder; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration' s recommendation is
based upon the fact that the matrix printer is required to
be interfaced with the City' s IBM System/34 computer and
because the Leas Pak bid is a non-IBM product, it will not
be maintained or supported by IBM.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That, based on the above premises and the
detailed recommendations of the City Administration, the
Council finds that International Business Machines Corpora-
tion submitted the lowest responsible bid and is hereby
awarded the bid for the purchase of a matrix printer in the
amount of $6 ,395. 00 .
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from
and after its passage.

GRAPEVINE , TEXAS on this the 21st day of September, 1982 .
