RESOLUTION NO. 78-4
�,_ . VIIHEREAS, Texas Power and Light Company filed a request for a rate increase
with the city on December. 21, 1977 requesting that the increased ratps go into effect
on the 2 5 day of January 1978; a nd
WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council pursuant to Articte 1446C, Tex. Rev.
Civ. Stat. Ann. suspended the operation and the effective date that thP rafies were
to go into effect by resolution passed on the 3 day of January , {978 which
resolution called for a public hearing on J4nuary 24, 1978; and
WHEREAS, said public hearing was duly he)d on said date and representatives
of Texas Power and Light Company were present and made a presenfiation and members
of the public were invited to speak relative to the proposed rate increase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section I. The City Council upon consideration of the information presented
�, at the public hearing on the request by Texas Power and Light Company and upon a
review of the voluminous data submitted in support of said increase is of the firm
belief that additional time is needed to review the data and the request and possibly
to request additional data from Texas Power and Light Company and that it is in the
-- best interest of its citizens and the rate payers in the community to suspend the
operation of the rates and the effective date of same for a period of 120 days from
the date the rates were proposed to go into effect and it is so ordered.
Section 2. That the City Secretary is directed to del iver a copy of this
Resolution to the District Manager of Texas Power and Light Company.
