WHEREAS , the City of Grapevine, upon the recommendation of the City Manager deems it necessary and proper to enter �'"�^ into an employment contract with Mr. Jim Smith relative to services as a golf professional at Grapevine Municipal Golf Course. �� NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas : SECTION I. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute said employment contract agreement between the City of Grapevine and Mr. Jim Smith, Golf Pro- fessional , a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. The City does hereby agree to hire the Professional to provide services as � a golf pro at the City's Municipal Golf Course. The Professional shall have the status as a Department Head in charge of the City's Golf Course ope.ration and be an employee of the City. The Professional shall report direcfily to the City Manager and be under the supervision of the City Manager. The Professional shall competently perform all of his obligations under this contract and his obli- gations as a Department Head to the satisfaction of the City Manager. II. ,�.: The term of this agreement shall be for five (5) years from ihe date of �:.,W execution by the City unless terminated earlier by either party. The parties may by mutual agreement extend this contract on a year to year basis. III. . The Professional shal) also provide the City with a �10,000.00 surety bond in relation to the handling of city funds. . . � XI. Professional shall provide fihe City with firxa�cial sfiatements if requested and Internal Revenue Service Incom Tax Returns at such time as the City maydesire. Payment to the City shall be accompanied by receipts and shall be made at such times as designated by the City. . XII. �`''' This contract shall terminate should the Professional die or become incapacitated �� during the five (5) year term thereof, or either party may terminate the contract upon ninety (90) days written notice. In the event of termination, the City shall purchase . all merchandise in the Pro Shop at wholesale cost, less ten per cent (IOala). The City shall purchase all of the electric motorized carts at the appraised value on the day of contract "termination.
