A RESOLUTION MAKING OFRICIRL FINDING AND DETERMINATION
AS TO THE POPULATION AND NUMBER OR INHABITANTS OF AND
WITHIN THE CITY OF GR.AP EVINE, TEXAS, AS OF JANUARY
l, 1976.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Grapevine, Texas has found and
determined that it will be for the benefit of said city to have
a revised estimate of the population and number of inhabitants,
and that the city make an official finding thereof; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed that an unofficial census
of the population of the City of Grapevine be taken; and,
WHEREAS, the 1970 population count taken from the "North Central
Texas Council of Governments Census Fact Book" , plus the number
of new dwelling units less the number of demolitions and using
a vacancy rate of 4.9% and using 3.24 persons per dwelling units
as the multiplier; and,
WHEREAS, based upon such census, and on such investigation, it
has been found and determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas,
as of January 1, 1976, actually has within its limits a
population of 10,998; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

That the City Council has officially found and determined, and
does now find and determine, that the population of the City of
Grapevine, Texas, as of the lst of January 1976 was 10,998.

And further, the said City Council now orders and directs that a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Texas Highway
Department so that they may change the population signs on the
roads and highways entering and leaving said City of Grapevine ,
Texas.
PASSED AND APPROVED, on this �� day of , 19'76,
at the City Hall, in Grapevine, Texas, by una mous vot of the
City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas.

1. Population figures include dwelling units permitted through December
of each year; therefore, the population estimates would be for the
next year.
2. North Central Texas Council of Governments Census Fact Book.
3. Total dwellings adjusted for 4.9� vacancy factor plus 28 mobile
homes per year increase multiplied by 3.24 persons per dwelling unit.
