WHEREAS , Ordinance No. 73-60 passed and approved by the Grapevine City Council on the 18th day of December, 1973 , closed, abandoned, and vacated a portion of an unnamed alley in the City of Grapevine, Texas ; WHEREAS , said action was filed in the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas , Volume No. , Page No. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS : Section 1.. That Section 1 of Ordinance 73-60 relative to the legal description of said alley is hereby amended as follows : Field Notes describing an alley in the W. C. Lucas Addition, an addition to the City of Grapevine , Texas . Described as follows : BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 1 ; Block 1 ; W. C. Lucas Addition, an addition to the City of Grapevine , Tarrant County, Texas , as recorded in Volume 3881 , Page 81 , Plat Records of Tarrant County; THENCE North 1 degree West 15 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 3 ; Block 2 ; of said Lucas Addition; THENCE North 89 degrees 15 minutes East 230 . 7 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 3 ; THENCE South 1 degree East 15 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 4; Block 1; of said Lucas Addition; THENCE South 89 degrees 15 minutes East 230 . 6 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, That said right-of-way and/or easement is hereby closed, aban- doned and vacated for public use, and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and vacated insofar as all public right , title and interest in and to said described portion of said right-of-way and/or easement is concerned. Section 2. That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed to be severable and that if the validity of any section, subsection, word, sentence or phrase shall be held to be invalid, it shall not affect the remaining part of this ordi- nance. Section 3 . The fact that said right-of-way and/or easement is no longer needed by the public for public usage or traveling and would create a hardship or burden upon the City of Grapevine , Texas , to keep open and maintain such alley, creates an urgency and an emergency for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare which requires that this ordi- nance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and it is accordingly so ordained. Section 4. That the Mayor be , and is hereby authorized to execute a corrected Quit Claim Deed, relative to the one issued on the 9th day of April , 1974, and recorded in Tarrant County, Texas Deed Records , Volume No6698 , Page No . 599-609 to convey the heretofore described property to Don Gerschick, the reputed owner of the property abutting said right-of-way and/or easement .
