Vehicle stabilization jacks are used to stabilize and support vehicles so that extrication
operations or other rescue work can be performed in a manner and environment that is
safer forte victims as well as the rescuers. The current vehicle stabilization jacks are
not dependable.
The purchase of three vehicle stabilization jacks from Advanced Rescue Systems will
replace the homemade jacks for use during automobile collisions. The engineered
design defines situations for use with limits reducing the likelihood of failure. These new
rescue jacks are similar to the homemade jacks that GFD has used; therefore, training,
familiarity, and having an engineered design are all reasons they were chosen.
