On the 6th day of January 1970 at 7:.�0 P.M. the City Council
of the City of Grapevine met in a regular meeting in the City
, Hall with the following members present:
Wiliis Pirkle Mayor
G. S. Benedict )
A1 Harwell )
Tommy Eidson ) Councilmen
Doil Dalton )
Lee Thompson )
Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Councilman
Benedict gave the invocation.
The minutes of the meetings of December lOth, 16th and 18th
were read and approved.
Messrs. Bill Calhoun and Thompson of the Lone Star Gas Company
were present and submitted a revised gas rate ordinance pro-
posal for the Council' s consideration. After discussion
Mayor Pirkle recommended that the Council approve the proposed
gas rate Ordinance numbered 70-1. Councilman Eidson made a
, MOTION to pass said Ordinance 70-1 on first reading. Motion
SECONDED by Councilman Benedict. Motion PREVAILED by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Dalton, Eidson, Harwell & Benedict.
Noes : None

AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMIN�NG '�HE
GENERAL SERVICE RATE TO BE CHARGED FOR
SALES OF NATURAL GAS 1�0 RESIDENTIAL AND
CONIMERCIAL CONSUMERS WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF GRAPEVINE, TARRANT COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER IN
f WHICH SUCH RATE MAY BE CHANGED� ADJUSTED
� AND AMENDED.
� A committee � f�� by the Volunteer Fi�e Dept. appeared before
the Council to report on the condition of equipment in the Fire
Department. It was reported that most of the equipment is in
need of repairs and that it is difficult to answer a fire call
without trouble with the trucks and o ther equipment. Requests
were made for updated equipment and designation of added
authority for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Fire
Department equipment. Committeemen present were: Bill Powers,
Harlen Joyce, Buddy Carlile, Gary Blagg, Ed Lan gley and James
Rainey.
Ordinance 69-46, amending the City Code to include a Planned
Development Category in the Zoning regula�ions was read on
second reading _ Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to pass said
Ordinance on secof �ead�ng. Motion SECONDED by
Councilman Harwell. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:

ORDINANCE 69-46
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TTICI;E 10 OF THE CITY
CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS SO AS
TO PROVIDE FOR A PLANNED DEVELAPMENT DISTRICT
CATEGORY IN THE ZONING REGULATIONS; AND PRO-
a VIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. �
The Annexation of the land South of Bear Creek, West of Farm
Road 157, East of Pool Road, and North of Hall Johnson Road
was discussed. Proposed Re�olution R70-2, directing that
notice of a public hearing be held concerning the annexation
of said land was introduced andreveiwed. Councilman Harwell
made a MOTION to pass said Resolution. Motion SECONDED by �
Councilman Dalton. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Councilmen Dalton, Eidson, Thompson, Benedict & Harwell.
Noes: None
Proposed Resoluti on R70-1, calling for an election to be held
for the election of Councilmen, Places 3, :4"and 5 was " intro- �
duced. ' Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to pass said resolu- �
tion. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:
E1yes: Councilmen Harwell , Eidson, Benedict , Thompson & Dalton.
Noes : None �
City Manager Floy Ezell reported that the City of Grapevine
has been named as one of the cooperating sponsors of the
proposed Roanoke Reservoir. �
