On the 16th day of June, 1970 at 7:30 P.M. , the City Council
of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in a regular meeting at
the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. with the following members; present:

Phil Parker )
I Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Councilman
Thompson gave the invocation.
i The minutes of the previous meeting of June 2nd, 1970 were read
and approved.

� Rezone Application Z 70-14 on which Bill Ratcliff requested
� "R-3" Multip�e Dwelling at the hearing on May 19th was considered.
� Eight persons were present to oppose the zone change. Mr.
( Ratcliff presented tentative plans for single story 4 plexes he
i would construct if rezoned. The Council presented information
� on the future land use map and noise study map. Councilman
j Eidson made a motion to delay action on the said rezoning re-
quest for further study. Motion seconded by Councilman Harwell. �
Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Parker, Harwell, Eidson & Halton.
Noes: None

Zoning Amendment Ordinance 70-22 was read on second reading.
Councilman Eidson made a motion to pass said ordinance on
second reading. Motion seconded by Councilman Dalton. Motion
� prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes; Councilmen Parker, Harwell , Thompson, Dalton & Eidson. �
Noes: None

City Manager Floy Ezell related to the Council the plans of �
the Texas Highway Department to make improvements on Highway �
121 from Grapevine, Southwest beyond the new High School. �,
Bids on the purchase of a new City c ar were reviewed. �
Councilman Eidson made a motion to accept the bid of Payton- �
Wright Ford in the amount of $2,010.00. Motion seconded by �
Councilman Thompson. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Eidson, Parker, Dalton, Harwell & Thompson.
Noes: None
Bids received are on file in the City records. �

The feasibility of purchasing the old First National Bank �
building for a City Library was discussed and architects `
drawings of the building showing conversion to a library �
were reviewed. Further discussion was delayed pending further �
studies. �'

Councilman Eidson made a motion that the Texas Street improve- �
ments be extended to Main Street. Motion seconded by Council- �'
man Thompson. Motion prevailed by the following vote: €

Ayes: Councilm en Dalton, Harwell, Thompson, Eidson & Parker. �
Noes: None
The application of Ted Willhoite to replace an underground ;
gasoline tank at his Goodyear Store was approved.

The inoperative vehicle ordinance of the City Code and the t
interpretation of the ordinance by the Police Department was
� discussed. No official action was taken.
