On the 4th day of August, 1970, at 7:30 P.M. , the City Council
and Planning and Zoning Commission met in a joint meeting �n
the City Hall with the following members present :
City Council

Planning and Zoning Commission

Ted Ware
Jerry Jordan
J. L. Woods

Harlen Joyce was absent .
Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Councilman Dalton
gave the invocation.
The purpose of the joint meeting was for public hearing on
Zone Change Application Z 70-23, Mae Vonne Wyche Martin re-
questing "M-H" Mobile Home Dwelling District on her property,
Tracts 2, 3, 4, Alex Thompson Survey, Abstract 1532. Persons
present were given an opportunity to be heard. One person
was present in opposition to the zone change.
Public Hearing was declared closed and persons present we�e
informed that the Planning and Zoning Commission will make
their recommendation to the City Council .
The City Council continued to meet for the regular council
meeting of this date with the following members present:

The minutes of the previous meeting of July 21, 1970 were �
read and approved. �

Mr. Joe Kennedy, a resident of Southshore Acres, stated that �
residents in his area thought natural gas service would be @
available this year. But upon contacti.ng the Lone Star Gas
office, they were told that no immediate plans exist for
servicing this area. The City Council informed Mr. Kennedy
a Lone Star Gas representative would be present at the
August 18, 1970 City Council meeting to answer questions
concerning gas service.

The City Manager presented the proposed new budget for the City �
{
Council ' s information and recommendations. The Council made a
comprehensive study of the budget by departments. Discussion
will continue at the next City Council meeting.
�
' Proposed Ordinance 70-29 increasing zoning petition f iling fee
was discussed. Councilman Harwell made a motion to approve said
ordinance increasing zoning filing fee from $35.00 to $90.00.
Motion seconded by Councilman Eidson . Motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Parker, Harwell, Thompson, Eidson and Dalton.
Noes: None

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 70�10,
THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
� GRI3PEVINE� TEXAS SO AS TO ADJUST THE
PETITION FILING FEE: AND PROVIDING
FOR A SRVINGS CLAUSE.
� Councilman Eidson made a motion to appoint Fenton D. Al1ey, Jr.
� as a member of the Board of Adjustments. and two alternate members, .
Don R. Stiles and A. J. Harper and to reappoint present members.
� Motion seconded by Councilman Dalton. Motion prevailed by the
� following vote:
�� Ayes: Councilmen Parker , Thompson, Dalton, Eidson and Harwell.
Noes : None

� The following property was proposed to be annexed by the City of
j Grapevine; Beginning in the South right of way line of State High-
,
� way 121 at its intersection with the Tarrant-Dallas county line:
Thence Northeasterly along said South right of way l�:ne of State
Highway 121, to its intersectionv�th the Dallas-Denton County line;
Thence, Westerly along the said Dallas-Denton county line to its
intersection with the Tarrant-Dallas county line. Thence, Southerly
along the said Dallas-Tarrant county line to the place of beginning.
Councilman Eidson made a motion to institute annexation proceedings
for the annexation of the above described land. Motion seconded by
Councilman Thompson. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Councilmen Harwell, Parker, Eidson, Dalton and Thompson.
Noes: None
