On the first day of December 1970 at 7:30 P.M. tY�e Clty Council �
� of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in the City Hall with the

Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Harwell i
gave the invocation. The minutes of the previous meeting of
'� Nov. 17, 1970 were read and approved.
Mr. Dan Riggs was present and submitted a request to place
a Mobile Home on property on Highway 157. The Council in-
structed Mr. Riggs to file his application with the Planning
;
and Zoning Commission on December 15, 1970.

,' Mr. Don Plunk was present in interest of the Zoning change re- I
x quest on Hunt properties. Councilman Dalton made a motion to �
`� accept the Planning and Zoning Commission ' s recommendation to ;
� change Tract 1 and 2 of the Hunt Properties from R-1 Residential i
; to C-1 Neighborhood Business and Tract 3 from R-1 Residential
to I-1 Light Industrial . Councilman Eidson secan ded the motion .
Motion prevailed by the following vote: " � ' �'% ""j . �' ����'
Ayes; Councilmen Thompson, Eidson, Dalton, Parker & Harwell.
Noes : None
Motion made by Councilman parker to pass on second and final
reading of Truck Route Ordinance # 70-45 . Motion seconded
by Councilman Eidson. Motion prevailed by the following votes
' Ayes: Councilmen Harwell, Parker, Dalton, Eidson & Thompson.

ORDINANCE 70-45
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF CONIl�IERCIAL MOTOR
VEHICLES ON THE PUBLIC STREETS; DEFINING TERMS: REQUIRING
COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLES IN INTRA-CITY TRAVEL TO BE OPERATED
ONLY ON TRUCK ROUTES; PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS; DESIGNATING CERTAIN
STREETS AS TRUCK ROUTES; AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATE CITY PERSONNEL
TO ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS AND TO DESIGNATE TEMPORARY ROUTES;
EXEMPTING EMERGENCY VEHICLES� AND VEHICLES OPERATED IN THE
CONSTRUCTIDN OR MAINTENANCE OF ANY PUBLIC UTILITY; PROVIDING i
PENALTIES; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES;
� REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
DECLARING THE ENFORCEMENT HERFAF TO BE GOVERNMENTAL; PROVIDING '
- FOR INJUNCTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Mr. Joe Kennedy was present and discussed with the Council
the possibilities of the City purchasing the Shorecrest Water
System. Councilman Eidson made a motion to buy the system in
its entire�y, exclusive of land and that the City be given a
5 year lease with 5 year o�tion and with 3 years rent free.
Motion was seconded by Councilman Thompson. Motion pre-
�� vailed by the following vote:
Ayes; Councilmen Eidson, Thompson, Harwell , Dalton & Parker.
Noes : None
The Council delayed any action on the request by the Airport
Board to close Trigg Road, Lipscomb-Koonce Road and part of
Minters Chapel Road.
Councilman Eidson made a motion to take action to annex
property North and East of Grapevine Lake. Motion seconded
by Councilman Dalton . Motion prevailed by the following
vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Parker, Eidson, Dalton, Thompson & Harwell.
Noes : None
Councilman Harwell made a motion to give city employees
same Christmas gift as last year. Motion seconded by
Councilman Thompson. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Councilmen Eidson, Parker , Thompson, Harwell & Dalton.
