Councilman Harwell was absent.

Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Dalton gave �
� the invocation. �
� City Manager Floy T. Ezell administered the oath of office to �
� Councilmen elect Carlton Pittard and Phil Parker. �

ti Harold Kaker, Chairman of the Charter Review Committee , discussed �
� proposed changes in the City Charter with the City Council . ,
� �
After discussing the proposed changes in the City Charter, Council- �
� man Eidson made a motion to pass Ordinance 72=18, an Ordinance
calling for revisions in certain sections of the City Charter. �
Councilman Pittard seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by �

OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, CALLING AN ELECTION F'OR �
CERTAIN CHANGES IN THE CITY CHARTER OF SAID �
CITY, INCLUDING CHANGES IN THE NUMBER OF CITY �
COUNCILMEN AND GR.ANTING THE MAYOR VOTING �
PRIVILEGES; CHANGES IN THE MANNER OF FILLING �
VACANCIES; CHANGES IN THE NUMBER OF COUNCILMEN �
CONSTITUTING A QUORUM; �CHANGES IN THE PROCEDURE ;
_", FOR PASSAGE OF' ORDINANCES; CHANGES IN THE 1'?AME °
OF THE CORPORATION COURT; CHANGES IN THE ¢
ELECTION OF COUNCILMEN AND MAYOR; CHRNGES IN x
THE METHOD OF ASSESSMENT OF PROPERTY TAX; CHANGES �
IN THE DATE THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION SHALL MEET:
CH�INGES IN THE INTERIM MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT; �
SETTING A DATE FOR SAID ELECTION, AND DECLARING �

Councilman Dalton made a motion to pass Resolution R72-11 , a �;
x resolution calling for a run-off election for Councilman Place 5, �
to be held May 13, 1972. Councilman Parker seconded the motion. ° ,;
The motion prevailed by the following vote: �` �

Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Eidson, Parker and Pittard.
� Noes: None �
� �A drawing was held for the p�a.rpose of determing the position of
� the names on the ballot in the run-off election. The name of �
Thelma F'. Conine was drawn to be -placed first on the ballot. �

x Councilman Dalton mac�e a motion to appoint the following persons �
:`: as election officials for the May 13th election: Mrs . C. W. Goad, �
x Election Judge; Mrs . C. R. Ezell , Alternate; Mrs . Ruth Whiteside �

motion.

Councilman Eidson made a motion to raise the City Election
Officials salaries to the same as paid by the state and
county election officials . Councilman Pittard seconded the
motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
