On Tuesday night June 20th, 1972 at 8:30 P.M. the City Council �
of the City of Grapevine , Texas met in regular meeting with the �
following members present: �

Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Dalton �

gave the invocation. �
Mayor Pirkle stated this meeting was for public hearing on �.
annexation of three tracts of land. Jim Hancock outlined the �
three tracts in the proposed annexation ordinance . Everyone �
_ present was given an opportunity to speak in their interest of �
the annexation. Mayor Pirkle declared the public hearing ciosed. r

Ordinance 72-20 was introduced and read in full . Councilman Dalton �
made a motion to pass said Ordinance on first reading . Council- �
� man Eidson seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the �
following vote:

Ayes : Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, Conine and Pirkle. �
Noes: None �

;� The minutes of the preceeding meetings were read and approved. �

' City Manager Floy Ezell opened and read the bids on the City� s �
� Insurance Policies . A total of three bids were received. �
; �
One each f rom Box Insurance Agency, Yancey Agency and Pierce
Horton Insurance . After tabulation of the bids , it was de- �
termined Pierce Horton Insurance submitted the lowest bid.

Councilman Parker made a motion to award the insurance bid to =
Pierce Horton Insurance . Councilman Eidson seconded the �
motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: �

Mr. Robert Rllen, Architect for Grapevine Memorial Hospital
presented plans for the expansion of the hospital and future
development of the surrouding area.
Bruce Weatherford spoke to the council about a site for
location of the Boy Scout Hut . No decision was made at this
time.
Ordinance 72-19 was introduced and read in full. Councilman
Pittard made a motion to pass Ordinance 72-19 on second read-
}! ing. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. The motion
prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, Conine and Pirkle.
Noes : None
ORDINANCE 72-19
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND
THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ,
SO AS TO CHI3NGE THE ZONING DISTRICT OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY OF' PERRY HAGER TO "SPECIFIC USE PERMIT
FOR COMMUNITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT" ; PLACING A
ONE YEAR LIMIT ON SAID PERMIT; AND PROVIDING
FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
The Planning & Zoning Commissinnts report on Zone Change
Application Z 72-9, on which Stewac d Bros . requested "R-3"
Zoning was read. Councilman Eidson made a motion to grant
Steward Bros . "R-3" Zoning on this application. Councilman
Parker seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes : Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Conine and Pirkle.
Noes: None
Not Voting: Pittard
There was some discussion on the purchase ,of a water line
serving customers on Rolling Hills Lane. Councilman Eidson
made a motion to table action on this until next meeting .
Councilman Parker seconded the mot�on. The motion prevailed
by the following vote:
Ayes : Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, Conine and Pirkle.
Noes: None
A request f rom the Grapevine School Board for the City to in-
stall street lights at the entrances to the football field
was read. Councilman Parker made a'motion that the City in-
stall the lights as requested. Councilwoman Conine seconded
the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pit,tard, Conine and Pirkle.
Noes : None
Resolut�ion R72-20, a resolution authorizing publication of
the intent to enter into a cooperation agreement with the
Housing Authority of the City of Grapevine, Texas was read.
Councilman Dalton made a motion to pass said resolui�ion.
� Councilman Pittard seconded the motion. The motion prevailed
by the following vote:
Ayes : Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, Conine and Pirkle.
Noes : None

' Councilman Eidson made a motion to postpone the July 4th
- Council meeting until July llth. Counc3lman Dalton seconded �;
the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: �

equipment for the Police Department . Councilwoman Conine seconded `'
