HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1977-052 ORDINANCE NO. 77-52 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 5, SECTION 6 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING GARBAGE R�►TES; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: ' SECTION I . That Title 7, Chapter 5, Section 6 is hereby � amended to read as follows: 7-5-6 Rates : Any houses , buildings or premises used for residential purposes, that are connected to the City's Water System and pay a minimum monthly charge for water service shall have their garbage, trash and refuse removed at a monthly charge where such collection and removal is not required in excess of twice each week. Should any part , section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase contained in this ordinance be held to be unconstitutional , such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of the ordinance , but in all respect shall remain in full force and effect . SECTION III . The fact that the present ordinances of the City of Grapevine, Texas , are in�dequate �o properly safeguard �he health, safety, morals , peace, and general welfare of the in- habitants of the City of Grapevine , Texas , creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of public business , property, health, safety and general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective from and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so ordained.
