AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE BY AMENDING CHAPTER 16, SECTION 1-16-2 B
RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF TEMPOR,ARY OR RELIEF
JUDGES BY DELETING ONE SENTENCE FROM SAME AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE:

Section 1. That Title 1, Chapter 16, Section 1-16-2 B
of the City Code of the City of Grap evine relating to
Municipal Court Judges is hereby amended to read as follows :
"Chapter 16 - Municipal Court - Section 1-16-2 B" .
The City Council shall have the power to appoint one or more
persons to serve as temporary or relief judges to sit for the
regular judge of the Municipal Court or for the presiding judge
or any of the associate judges of such Court, while such judge
or judges, any or all, are temporarily unable to act for any
reason. Such appointee shall possess the same qualifications
required of the judge for whom he is sitting and shall have
all of the powers and duties of such judge while acting for
such judge.
Section 2. An Emergency. The fact that the personal
ordinances relating to temporary municipal judges of the City
� of Grapevine are inadequate to properly safeguard the health,
safety, morals, peace and general welfare of the public
"'�'' which requires that this ordinance shall become effective
from and after the date of its passage, as provided by the
Charter of the City and it is accordingly so ordained.
