AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE # 76-31 RELATING TO WATER
AND SEWER SYSTEM CHARGES BY AMENDING ART. 7-2-21 RELATING TO
THE CHARGE FOR INSTALLING A WATER METER; AND AMENDING ART.
7-3-6 BY DELETING THE REQUIREMENT THAT A DEVELOPER PLACE A 2°l0
DEPOSIT WITH THE CITY; PROVIDING A PENALTY, PROVIDING A SEVERA-
BILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CIN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS.
Section 1 . That Title 7, Chapter 2 of the City Code, subsection 7-2-21
is hereby amended to read as follows:
7-2-21 WATER TAP CHARGES
The minimum charges shall be made for connection to the City water
system shall be as follows:
For 5/8" X 3/4" connection - $150.00
For 1" connection - $225.00
For 1 1/2" connection - $425.00
For 2" connection - $550.00
Larger than 2" tap to be agreed upon by contract.
Whenever the water service line has been properly and legally installed
by a real estate developer, builder, or other person, and whenever the only
work to be performed by the City Water Department is installing and connecting
a water meter and meter box the fee is $75.00.
Section 2. That subsection 7-3-6 is hereby amended by deleting para-
graph 7-3-6(c) i n i ts enti rety.
Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, sentence, phrase, word,
paragraph, or provisions of this ordinance or the application of that section,
sentence, phrase, word, paragraph, or provision to any person, situation or cir-
cumstances is for any reason adjudged invalid, the adjudication shall not affect
any other section, sentence, phrase, word, paragraph or provision of the Grape-
vine City Code. The City Council declares that it would have adopted the valid
portions and applications of this ordinance without the invalid part, and to this
end the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 4. Penalties. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof,
shall be fined $1.00 to $200.00,
Section 5. Emergency Clause. The fact that the present ordinances
and regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly
safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general welfare of the inhabitants
of the City of Grapevine, Texas creates an emergency for the immediate preser-
vation of public business property health, safety, and general welfare of the
public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective from and after
the date of its passage and it is accordingly so obtained.
