WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is imperative
that the City of Grapevine seek an additional source of
water to supplement the City' s present supply of water for

its citizens , and,

WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine now has application
before the Texas Water Rights Commission to be designated
as Co-sponsor to negotiate with the United States Army
Corps of Engineers in matters relating to the investigation
by the Corps of Engineers of the Roanoke Reservoir Project
and related facilities , and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has no objection to
other co-operating local sponsors,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GR�PEVINE, TEXAS;

-� Section l .
THAT the City of Grapevine will fully co-operate with
other sponsors in the development of the Roanoke Reservoir
Proj ect.
Section 2.
THAT, in the event the City of Grapevine is designated
as a co-operating sponsor of the Roanoke Reservoir Project ,
the City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate
and enter into a contract, in behalf of the City of

Grapevine, with the U. S. Government for the purchase of

such water storage as may be� authorized by the Texas Water
Rights Commission.
Section 3.
THAT this resolution shall take effect f rom and
after its passage as in the Charter in such cases made
and provided.
