Whereas, the City Council is desireous of making the City of
Grapevine a safer place in which to live and travel, and
Whereas, there is an ever increasing need for certain traffic
control devices at certain intersections within the corporate
limits, and,
Whereas, much study and thought has been given to these problems
by the City Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. H deletion to Title 9, Chapter 2, Section 3 of the
City Code — that Yield—Right—Of—WaySigns be removed from the
following locations:
A. On Vine Street on the East and West Side at its
intersection with Pine Street.
B. On Vine Street on the East and West side at its
intersection with Valley Vista.
C. On Vine Street on the East side at its intersec—
tion with Terrace Drive,
D, On Vine Street at Airline Drive.
Section 2. An addition to Title 9, Chapter 2, Section 2 of the
City Code that Stop signs be erected at the following intersections
to indicate that a full stop must be made before proceeding
into or through the intersections:
On Bellaire Drive at Vine Street on South and North Side
Section 3. An addition, to Title 9, Chapter 2, Section 3 of the
City Code that Yield—Right—Of—Way signs be erected at the
following intersections to indicate that persons proceeding
on the street must slow down to a speed reasonable for the
existing conditions, or shall stop if necessary, and shall yield
the right of way to any pedestrian legally crossing the
roadway on which he is driving, and to any vehicle in the
intersection or approaching on another highway before proceeding
into or through the intersection:
A. On Valley Vitta at Vine Street.
B. On Terrace Drive at Vine Street.
C. On Pine Street at Vine Street.
D. On Airline Drive at Vine Street.
Section 4. The authority for the erection of the forgoing signs
and the enforcement of the regulations therein represented has
been vested in the City Council by the City of Grapevine Ordi—
nance No. 54-8 passed and approved the 2nd day of March, 1954.
Section 5. This resolution, not being a penal ordinance in
itself need not be published to be effective and is effective
upon the passage by the City Council and the erection of
the aforementioned signs.
