FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFITS
FUND OF THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT
SYSTEM BY ALL DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY
GOVERNMENT WHICH PARTICIPATE IN THE TEXAS
MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM; PROVIDING
FOR PAYMENT OF THE CITY'S CONTRIBUTIONS ON
ACCOUNT OF SUCH PARTICIPATION; PROVIDING FOR

INCREASED MUNICIPAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE

CURRENT SERVICE ANNUITY RESERVE AT RETIRE-
MENT OF THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF GRAPE-
VINE, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR AND GRANTING
ANTECEDENT SERVICE CREDIT AND SPECIAL PRIOR
SERVICE CREDIT AT THE RATES HEREIN SPECIFIED,
TO QUALIFYING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS;" BY AMENDING SECTION 1,
TITLE 1, CHAPTER 13, TO INCLUDE FIRE DEPART-
MENT EMPLOYEES EXCEPTING VOLUNTEER FIREMEN;
, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAI NED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Title 1, Chapter 13, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 73-52
passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, on
October 2, 1973, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"1-13-1. That, on beha lf � the City of G rapevine, Texa s, the City
Council hereby exercises it's option and elects to have the city and all of the
employees of all departments now existing or hereafiter established excepting
the valunteer firemen participate in the Texas Municipal Retirement System
a� pravided in Chapter 75, Acts of the 50th Legisla�ure, as amended, (Article
6243h of Vernan's Civi3 Statutes of Texas); and all of the benefits and obligations
of such system a re hereby accepted a s to such employees.

"The City Manager is hereby directed to notify the Board of Trustees
of the Texas Mtaniczpai Retirement Sy�tem that the City of Grapevine, Texas,
has e�anded its parCicipation and have the employees � the above departments
pa rticipate in sa id system. "
Section 2. The fact that the pres�nt ardinance and regulations of
the City are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace
and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City creates an emergency for the
immediate preservation of the public business, property, health, safety and
general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance sha11 become
effectxve from and after �he date of its final pa�sage, as provided by the
Charter of the Gity, and it is accordingly so ordained,
