WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas, and the Ordinances of the
City of Grapevine provide that on the next ensuing first Tuesday
in April , there shall be elected the following officials for the
said City of Grapevine: As amended this date.
MAYOR
ALDERMAN, Place No. 1
ALDERMAN, Place No. 2
WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas further provides that the
election code of the State of Texas is applicable to said election,
and in order to comply with said code , an order should be passed
establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and
designating the voting place for said election.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the
first Tuesday in April , 1965, same being April 6, 1965, for the
above named offices file their application 'to become candi.lates
with the Mayor and City Secretary of said City at the City Hall,
Grapevine, Texas, on or before the 30 days from the date of said
election.
That all of the said applications shall be substantially in the
following form:
..' M To the Mayor of the City of Grapevine, Texas:
I hereby request that my name be placed upon the official ballot
for the election to be held on the 6th day of April , 1965, as a
candidate for (name of Office) of said City. I hereby certify
that I am eligible to hold said office under the Constitution
of the State and have resided in this State for a period of twelve
months and six months in the City of Grapevine and have been an
actual bona fide citizen of the said City for six months or more
just preceding this application.

That the City Secretary shall, in accordance with the terms and
provisions of the Election Code, post in his office the names of
all candidates who have been certified to him by the Chairman of
the Executive Committee of any party holding a convention or
primary election for said above mentioned offices, and the names
of all independent candidates who have filed their applications in
accordance with the terms and provisions of this order, and said
names shall be posted for at least 10 days before said City
Secretary orders the same to be printed on the ballot for said
election.

The City Secretary is hereby authorized and instructed to provide
and furnish ail necessary supplies and personnel to conduct said
election. Said supplies and personnel shall be furnished at the
expense of the General Fund of the City of Grapevine, Texas.
This resolution shall repeal every prior resolution in conflict
herewith, but only insofar as the portion of such prior resolution
shall be in conflict, and as to all other sections of resolutions
not in direct conflict herewith, this resolution shall be and is
bereby made cumulative.
The Mayor shall issue all necessary orders, writs, and notices for
said election and the returns of said election shall be made to the
City Council immediately after the close of the polls and the com-
pletion of the counting of the ballots.
