On the 2nd day of April, 1968, the City Council of the City of �;
Grapevine, Texas, convened in zegular meeting at the City Hall �
with the following members present: �

A quorum being constituted, the following business was . transacted:
The invocation was given by Mayor Woods.
I. The Mayor and City Council canvassed the City Election Returns and
the following RESOLUTION CANVAS5ING ELECTION RETURNS was duly in--
troduced for the consideration of the City Council and read in
full. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to declare the election
returns as correct and in accordance with the law and to adopt
said resolution canvassing the returns. Councilman Dalton
seconded the MOTION. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, -#��6, Pirkle and Huber.

RESOLUTION NO. R68-2
RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RFSULTS OF CITY OFFICER`S ELECTION
WHEREAS, there came on to be considezed the returns of an election
held on the 2nd day of April, 1968, for the purpose of electing
the hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from said re-
turns, duly and legally made that there were cast at said election
70 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said
electinn received the following votes:

That, said election was duly called; that notice of said election
was given in accozdance with law, and �that said election was held in
accordance with law, and that the following named persons were duly

� II. The minutes of the previous meeting of March 19, 1968 were read and
approved.
III. On this date a public hearing was held for the purpose of giving
, interested persons an opportunity to be heard in connection with the
request of change of zoning of .63 acre of land, owned by Bill Ratcliff,
in the Foster Survey. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended
that Bill Ratcliff's .63 acre, ffi ock 518 in the Foster Survey be
'�� changed from "A�� Residential Dwelling to "F" Central Business. An
I ordinance changing said zoning was introduced and read in full.
; Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to accept the recommendation of the
iPlanning and Zoning. Commission and to pass said Ordinance on first
reading. MOTION seconded by Councilman Pirkle. MOTION prevailed
� by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen 8�4�di�st, Pirkle, Huber and Dalton.

ORDINANCE # 68-3
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE �ONING ORDINANCE
AND THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS, SO AS TO CHANGE TtiE ZONING DISTRICTS
OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF GRAPEVINE DEVELOPMENT
COMPNNY, INC. , FROM "A'� RESIDENTIAL DWFLLING
TO "F" CENTRAL BUSINESS AND PROVIDING FOR
A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
An ordinance closing and abandoning a portion of an alley off
Franklin Street was introduced and read in full and duly discussed.
Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to adopt said Ordinance. Council-
man Huber seconded the MOTION. MOTION prevailed by the following
vote:

V. The preliminary plat of A1 Mikvsek's subdivision of his Lot 9,
Block 33, Grapevine Survey was reviewed. Councilman Huber made
a MOTION to approve said preliminary plat. Councilman Pirkle
seconded the MOTION. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Councilmen �.�, Pirkle, Huber and Dalton.

VII. Bids on water pipe which were reviewed at the last neeting, on
which no action was taken, were considered. Councilman Pirkle
� made a MOTION to purchase nec�essary pipe from Johns Manville
at the low bid of $2.54 per�a 10" water line on Dove Road from
Hilltop Drive North to the North property line of Cozbin 's
Trailer Park. MOTION seconded by Councilman Daltdn. MOTION
prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen �t, Huber, Dalton and Pirk1Q.
Noes: None
VIII. City Manager Floy Ezell was authorized by the Council to proceed
with neqotiations with the Grapevine School District to work out
an agreement on getting city water to the new school site. �
IX• Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to authorize an additional rank
of seargent to the Police Department at the rate of pay of
$425.00 per month. Councilnan Pirkle seconded the MOTION and
aftez due discussion MOTION prevailed by the folloaing vote:
Ayes: Councilmen �e�i�et, Pirkle, Huber and Dalton.
Noes: None
X. The Council considered the request of Mr. F. C. Ashton to drop
the Penalty and Interest on his taxes on his Lot 4c1 Al in the
Mahan Survey. The Council advised that this concession cannot
be made.

XI. Hospital and Accident Insurance coverage on City employees was
discussed. Conncilman Huber made a MOTION to pay the preaiva
of all full time City enployees and to accept the proposal of
Republic National Life Insurance Company. Councilman Pirkle
seconded the MOTION. MOTION prevailed by the folloaing vote:
. Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Pirkle, diwtier and Dalton.
Noes: None

XII. Messers. Lee R. Thompson, Guy S. �ii�t and Willis Pirkle were
given the oath of office by City Mr:nager Floy Eaell for the offices
of Councilmen for Places 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
