On the 7th day of May, 1968, at '7:30 P.M. , the City Council of
the City of Grapevine, Texas convened in regular meeting at the
City Hall with the following �embers present:

A quorum being constituted the following business was transacted:
Invocation was givenby Mayor woods.
The minutes of the pzevious meetings of April Sth and 16th, 1968
were read and approved.
130 Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Hobbie and Mrs. Virgil William�s, all of Shorecrest
Acres were present to discuss some of their questions concerning
recent council decisions on bnilding and zoning in that area.
170 The proposed water line contract between the Grapevine School
District. and the City of Grapevine was review�ed. Councilman
Benedict aade a MOTION to approve and execute said contract.
MOTION seconded by Councilman Dalton. MOTION prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Hubex, Dalton and Thompson.
Noes: None
204 Proposed Ordinance 68-11, abandoning a portion of an alley was
introduced and read in full. Councilman Dalton made a MO'T'ION
to pass said Ordinance on first reading. MOTION seconded by
Councilman Thompson. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Council�en Benedict, Huber, Dalton and ?hampson.

A PORTION OF AN ALLEY SITUATED IN

256 The water line agreement betareen G. L. Perry and City of 6rapevine ,
was review�d. Councilman Huber sade a MOTION to accept said
aqreement. MOTION seconded by Councilman Dalton. MOTION pre-
vailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Haber, Dalton and Thompson.
Moes: None

� 266 The Council zeview�ed plans and esti�ates on a building for the
Public works Department. Councilma,n Benediet made a MOTION to
authorize City Manager Floy Ezell to proceed arith taking bids
for the construction of said building xith bids on the metal
building to be sepazate from the concrete slab, carpentry and
related work. Councilman Dalton seconded the MOTION. MOTIOIV
prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilaen Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson.
Noes: None
309 The request of water works improvements by the Lake Forest Water
Works was considered. Their request consisted of plans to replace €
�
2" pipe with 6" pipe and Fire Hydrants from the storage tank, then
along the West side of Forest Hills Road to Dove Loop Road.
Councilman Dalton aade a MOTION to approve said plans with the
, provision that the pavement is satisfactorily replaced and the
area is left in a condition that is equal to that before constzuc-
i tion. Councilman Thompson seconded the MOTION. MDTION prevailed
by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson.

342 The request foz a str�et light to be placed at the intersection of
' Ball and Hudgins Streets was consider.ed. Councilman Benedict aade
, a MOTIOTI to issue a work order to Texas Power & Light Company to
�I place a street light at the intersection of Ball and Hudgins Street.
I MOTION seconded by Gbuncilman Thompson. MOTION prevailed by the
following vote:

352 The garbag e rate for Shorecrest Acres was discussed. Councilman
Dalton n�ade a MOTION to set the garbaqe rate for Shorecrest Acres
at $1.50 per month foY twice a week pick-up. MOTION seconded by
� Councilman Benedict. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:

4I3 Connection charges on the 10" water line on Dove Road were dis-
cussed. No action aras taken on the matter pending professional
assistance from the City's consulting engineers.

the land having a boundary beginning at the intersection o� State
Highway 121 and county road 3038, south to the south line bf the
H. Decker Survey, East to the Southeast corner of the H. Decker
Survey, North to the Northwest corner of the W. D. Shepherd, fiast
across the North line of the Shepherd and the J. R. Stephens Survey
to the Northeast corner of the Stephens Survey, South along the
East line of the Stephens Survey, to its intersection with State
Farm Road 157, Northeast on 157 to State Hightivay 114, Northwest to
State Highway 121 and Southwest along State Highway 121 to place
of beginning. Also, the land having a boundary beginning at the
� intersection of Dove Road #3062 and the Corps of Engineezs property
line, Southwest along the Corps of Engineers property line to its
� intersection with Grapevine Dove Loop Road #3061, South along said
road to its intersection with Dove Loop Road �f3080,fiast along Dove
Loop Road �t3080 to its intezsection with Dove Road �t3062,Nozth along
Dove Road #3062 to place of beginning. MOTION seconded by Council-
man Dalton. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:

627 Two petitions requesting annexation of land contiguous to the
City vPere reviewed. They were �ubmitted by land ov�mers Clinton
Basset, C. L. Chambers, and Carey Everett and William and
Bobbie Elder. Proposed Ordinance 68--12, annexirg said land
into'the City was introduced and read in full. Couacilman
Huber nade a MOTION to approve said petitions and pass pro-
posed Ordina�nce 68-12 annexing the land into the City. MOTION
seconded by Councilman Benedict. MOTION prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson.
Noes: None

AN ORDINANCE RFCEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BSLOW�
SHALL BECO1� A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT
THE OWNfiRS AND THB INHABIT�1'd15 THEREOF SHALL BE �
ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS
OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY TI-� ACTS AND ORDINANCES

635 The preliainary plat of Bill Carlson's proposed subdivision, �
South Shore Acres, was reviewed. Councilman Huber aade a
MOTION to approve said preliminary plat as. recommended by
the Planning and Zoning Commission. MOTION seconded by
Councilman Dalton. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson.

643 The preliainary plat of William Elder 's proposed sub-division,
Little John No. 3 Addition, was reviewed. Councilman Dalton
' made a MOTION to approve said preliminary plat as approved
by the Planning and Zoning Comm�ission. MOTION seconded by
Councilman Huber. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:

park, I�ilestezn 1Yails Mobile Home Park, located in the City's
territorial jurisdiction was reviewed. Councilman Benedict
made a MOTION�to approve said preliminary plat. MOTION
seconded by Councilaan Huber. MOTION prevailed by � the �
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson.

6S5 Construction of streets in the proposed Brookhollow fistates �
sub-division was discussed. it was the council's decision �
that Mr. Steward will be requized to construct the streets �
in the addition according to the City specifications which �
require crushed stone, except that if he constructs Shady
Brook Dzive pr aS��R,�p;th�r�st e�e�`�constructioa, in conformity
to his proposa he wi�l �'ie a�lowe� to use the pit gravel
specifications�n Lucas Drive, Oak Huzst Dzive and Meadow-
brook Drive.
690 Councilman Hubez made a MOTION to appoint Mayor Woods as the
City's representative to attend the meetings of the Council .

699 The Council approved the application of Richard Griffith to
place a trailer house on the lot at 508 Ball Street.
803 Police coverage for the City was discnssed. Councilman Benedict
made a MOTION to authorize City Manager Floy Ezell to purchase
a new car for the police department. MOTION seconded by Council-
man Dalton. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson.
Noes: None
808 Councilman Huber aade a MOTION to authorize City Manager Floy
Ezell to employ an additional policeman. MOTION seconded by
Councilaan Dalton. MOTION prevailed by the following vote:
