HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-04-01 Regular Meeting 153 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE R On the 1st day of April 1969 at 7:30 P.M. , the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular meeting at the City Hall with the following members present: Ira Woods Mayor H. E. Huber } Willis Pirkle )Councilmen Lee Thompson } G. S. Benedict) Doil Dalton ) Mayor Woods called the meeting to order and gave the in- vocation. The minutes of the previous meeting of March 4th were read and approved. Leon Smith, E. D. Johnson, Grover Hall and Lawrence W. Smith were present and petitioned to have their land annexed to the City. Proposed Annexation Ordinance 69-14 was introduced and read. Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to pass said ordinance on first reading. MOTION seconded by Councilman Pirkle. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes; Councilmen Huber, Pirkle, Thompson, Benedict & Dalton. Noes: None ORDINANCE 69-14 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, F TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BELOW, SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND THE INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT -AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED: FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING ` THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND C(JNTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. Mr. Joe Box, property owner south of the Trailwood Mobile owl'* Home Park, was present and requested that the City Council oppose the issuance of a permit to the mobile home park Le owners to release effluent from their proposed sewerage treatment plant into the drainage area below. Proposed Resolution R68-9, declaring the results of said election, was intro- duced and read. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to pass , said resolution. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Benedict. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Thompson, Benedict, Pirkle & Huber. Noes : None I 154 � Said Resolution is on file in the Resolution Book and a copy is attached hereto. The sewer study of Shorecrest Acres and area, made by the City Engineers , was reviewed. The City Secretary was in- structed to mail a copy of said study to interested citizens in that area. Plans and specifications of the Dove Road Sewer Life Station and outfall lines were reviewed. Councilman Huber made a MOTION to approve said plans and authorize the City Engineers to proceed with bids and necessary procedures to start construction. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Pirkle. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Pirkle, Benedict, Huber, Dalton and Thompson. Noes: None The need for the extension of water service to the Northwest part of the City was discussed. Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to proceed with plans to extend the 10" water line from Dove Road, west approximately 2,000 feet. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict , Huber, Thompson, Pirkle & Dalton. Noes: None The statement of construction expenses on the City' s portion of the Brookhollow Sewer Lift Station and Shady Brook Drive was reviewed. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to authorize payment of said statement per the City agreement to pay 1/2 the Lift Station and a 10 foot strip of extra width on Shady Brook Drive. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Benedict. s Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Huber, Benedict , Dalton, Pirkle and Thompson. 4 j Noes: None Councilman Huber made a MOTION to defer the consideration of payment for extra depth on sewer lines in Brookhollow Estates for further study. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: i p Ayes : Councilmen Benedict , Thompson , Pirkle, Dalton & Huber. Noes : None Tommy Eidson was present and resigned from the Planning and E Zoning Commission. Councilman Benedict made a MOTION to appoint Jerry Jordan as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Pirkle. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: mom Ayes: Councilmen Thompson , Pirkle, Huber, Benedict & Dalton. Noes : None Meeting adjourned. APPROVED THIS the day of ,� 1969.
