� of the City of Grapevine, Texas met jointly with the Planning �'
and Zoning Commission with the following members present: �

Mayor Woods called the meeting to order and gave the invoca- �

tion. The purpose of the joint meeting was to have public �
�
hearings for Zone Change Application 69-6, 69-7 and 69-8. �
�
Application 69-6 was considered. Lawrence Deering requested �
a Specific Use Permit for Used Car Lot on Lot 49B1 of the �
Leonard Survey. Persons present were given an opportunity �
to be heard. Chairman Harlen Joyce informed persons present =
that they will be notified of the action taken. �

Application 69-7 was considered. Henry V. Tate requested �
r'C & D" Multiple Dwelling District on his Tract 13 in the �
Leonard Survey. Persons present were given an opportunity �

Application 69-8 was considered. Robert E. Crews, Mrs. Ida �
S. Wall Estate, Frederick C. Harwell , Ruth Hatter, Jr. , E
Rachel Crews, and Kate Maples requested "J & K" Industrial �
Zoning on their acreages in the A.J.N. Dunn, C. C. Hope, �
J. C. Owen and the Wm. E. Owen Surveys. Persons present �
were given an opportunity to be heard. Chairman Harlen �'
Joyce informed persons present that they will be notified �
of the action taken. €

The minutes of the previous meeting of March 18th were read
and af�er corrections approved. .
City Manager Floy Ezell administered the oath of office to
Mayor elect Dr. Ira Woods and �ouncilmen elect Doil Dalton
and Tommy Eidson.
Resolution R69-9, expressing commendation and appreciation
for the untiring and valuable service rendered to the City
of Grapevine by Mr. Herbert E. Huber as Councilman for the
past six years was introduced and read in full. Councilman
Pirkle made a MOTION to pass said resolution. Motion
SECONDED by Councilman Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by the
following vote:

Said Resolution is on file in the City Resolution Book.

The request of the Church of Chris t for the City to participate
in the cost of storm sewering or rerouting siarface water drain-
age from or through the Church property on College Street was
� considered. It was the Council' s opinion that the City could

; not participate in the cost of this request.

� The corrected plat and the construction plans for water, sewer,
� and streets for Brookhollow Estates , Second Section �ve�e
� considered. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to approve said
% corrected final plat and construction plans , both subject to
�
the City Engineers approval. Motion SECONDED by Councilman
� Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:

Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to have a street light put ;'
at the intersections of Lake Forest Rd. and Forest Hills Rd. �
and Forest Hills Rd. and Basin Trail if the property owners �
affected approve. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. >
Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:

The need for a street department, separate from other depart- �
ments was discussed. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to set "
up a street department consisting of three men and to take �
bids on a tractor and mower. Motion SECONDED by Councilman �
Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Eidson, Benedict, Pirkle , Dalton & Thompson. �'

Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to establish the job position �
of Street Superintendent at a salary of $520.00 per month �
and to set the rate of pay for two street department employees �
at $375.00 per month. Motinn SECONDED by Councilman Eidson. �
Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: �

Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to authorize a three percent �
pay increase for city employees who have served their �

The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that Rezone '
Application 69-7 be denied. Councilman Pirkle made a
MOTION to disapprove the request of Henry V. Tate on Re-
zone Application 69-7 to rezone his tract 13 in the Leonard

Survey to C & D Multiple Dwelling. Motinn SECO by
Councilman Eidson. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Benedict , Pirkle, Eidson, Dalton & Thompson. �
Noes: None .
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended to approve

MOTION to approve the recommendatinn of the Planning and
Zoning Commission on rezone application 69-8, on which R. E.
Crews, and others requested "J & K" Industrial Zone on their .
