AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT WHENEVER THERE
IS A CONFLICT BETWEEN THE CITY BUILDING CODE
AND ANY OTHER CITY ORDINANCE OR CODE, THAT
THE PROVISIONS OF THE BUILDING CODE WILL TAKE
PRECEDENT; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; PROVIDING
FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, THAT:
PART I:
That the Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas , is hereby
amended by adding a new Section TWO to TITLE THREE, CHAPTER ONE
of said Code, which shall hereafter read as follows:
3-1-2 Conflicts:
Whenever there exists a conflict in the
language or interpretation of the City
Building Code and any other related
ordinance, then in such event, the Building
Code will always take precedent and be followed
by the City Building official in administering
the City Codes.
PART II:
Any person who violates any of the provisions of this
Section 3-1-2 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined not to exceed TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 .00)
for each offense.
PART III:
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence ,
clause, phrase or word in this Ordinance, or application thereof to
any person or circumstances is held invalid by any Court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this Ordinance, and the City Council of the
City of Grapevine, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted
such remaining portions despite any such invalidity.
� PART IV:
The welfare and preservation of the public safety and
comfort of the citizens and the fact that conflicts in the City
Codes exist causing confusion and difficulties in administration,
requires the immediate passage of this Ordinance and the same
shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and
it is accordingly so ordained.
