February 2, 1965
The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle
and B�c�edict. Alderman Parker being absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
The City 1�ttorney explained the duties of the Board of Ad,justments.
They are t0 receive appeals where an error has been made or if :
the building inspector has refused a building permit, ta decide
on special exceptions to the Zoning Ordinance��and to decide on
hard�hip cases. The board has no pow�r to change the zoning.
A mction by Aldermatt Benedict, seconded by Alderman Pirtle to
table the proposed restrictions submitted for Lakewood A�res
addition for further study. Motion carried by Alderraen Benedict,
Pirkle, Huber and vandeveter voting yes with no noes.
Mr. Robert Hogan of Henningsctn, Durha� and Richardson planners
and er�gineers, presented and explained the Generai Development
PlaR for the Ci ty ta the counci 1 .
� Discussion was given on the street amendment Ordinance.
p motion by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Vandeventer to
reduce the 1961 , 1962 and 1963 tax valuation on the N 94 � x E 116t
of a lot in the Starr Addition, block 14, belonging to H. H. Dalton
fro� �2,000.00 to �500.00. This lot has no' outlet and the valuatinn
was reduced by the Board of �quilization for 1964. Motioq carried.
by Alderm$n Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and �enedict voting yes with
no noes.
A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman �enedict to
write a letter to Cameron Lumber Co. saying that the City will
keep the u�ility easement between Lots 6 and 7 in Block 2 of
Dellwood �4 res free from debris for drairlage. Motion carried
by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle, Huber and Vandeventer voting yes
with no noes. This will have to be approved by our City
Attorney before a letter will be written.
