March 16, 1965
The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, Al�ermen Parker , Vandeventer, Huber,
Pir�le and gertedict.
Minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
Mr. Scofi���, City Attorney, discussed the authority the city may
have in enforcing the requirements of the State Highway Department
after the State has issued a permit for driveways connection onto
the State Highways. More study was to be given on this sub�ject.
Mr. Chas. T. Morse , flentley-Gordon b Associates, discussed and ad-
vised the city how to enter into a low rent housing development.
A motion by Alderman Huber, seconded by Alderman Pirkle t0 adopt
Resolution R65-3. "A RESOLUTION FINDING APID DECLARING THAT THER E
EXISTS A NEED FOR THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF GRwPE�lINE,
TE}CpS, 'PO FUNCTION." Motion carried by Aldermen B�nedict, Pirkle,
Hub�r, Vac�deventer and Parker voting yes with no qoes. Comp�ete :

A motion by Alderman Huber, seconded by Alderman Vandeventer

A letter from Mr. Robert Lispscomb, reference to the propos�d
Park Site along Minters Chapel Road on either side of the Cityts
�ewer Lift Station, asking �850.00 per acre for the 30+ acres
of land. Mayor was to write Mr. Lipscomb a letter advising
him that the City was inter�sted in obtaining the land for a
City Park but felt that his price for the land was out of line.
Mr. Robert Stark, one of the directors of Jaycee, ask the council
if they would approve of the selli�g of the Pool Table that is
in the Civic Center at this time so as to get some additional
money to help with the cost in completeing the remodeling of the
Civic Center.
A motion by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Benedict
suthorizing the secretary to sell the table and appl� the money
received in the remodeling of the Civic Center if all parties
involved in securing the Pool Tdble had-' no ob�jections. Motion
carried by A2dermen Parker, Van�teventer , Huber, Pirkle and Benedict
vot�ng yes with no noes.
�` The Proposed Speed Zone Ordinance submitted by the State Highway
� Department asking the city to approve a 50 MPH speed alo�g
5pur 2Q3 from intersection with State Highway 222 and Hudgin
street south t� Highway 114.
A mption by Alderman Pirkle, secanded by Aiderman Huber to set
the speed from State Highway 121 aad Hudgin street south aloqg
Spur 143 to the intersectipn of Nash street at 3� MPH. Then
the speed from the intersectian of Nash str�et south along
Spur 2Q3 ta Highway 22� at 50 �PH. Motion carried by Aldermen
Ben�dict, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Parker votir�g yes with

The council approved the idea of annexing the properties south
of G2ade Road into the city af Grapevir�e if these parties petition
as by 2aw ta cr�me into the City of Grapevine if they ar� nat
in some other city.
Discussion was given aq the Parkir�g Ordinance along Htghway 11I�
busirtess route and Highway 121.
If and when any of the leased 2and that the ci ty may have
fran the Gorps of �ngineers is ieased it will be leased to the
Bay Scouts this is the ladd ad,joining their property.
