April 3, 1g62 .
The C��ty Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Johnson, Aldermen Kaker, Harwell , Matthews,
and Hayward. Alderman Deacon being absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
� A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Harwell to pass
a resolution declaring the results of the City OfficerTS election
held on Apri 1 3, 1962, with the following number af �rotes for each
canidates with the following being e2ected to office :

In reference to graveling Wasrington Street in the Northside
Addition. Mr. Higgens has agi'eed to pay 1�3 of the cost of
regraveling this street. The Gas Company was to be contacted
in reference to what they have done or �just what they plan to do
in reference to the street. The street will require 40 loads of
gravel the cost will be �270.00 including the spreading and the
cuttirtg of drain ditches on each side of the street.
Discussion was given about annexing the road crossing the Grapvine
Dam to the County Line. No action was taken at this time .
The alley between lots 4 and 5,6,7,8, and 9 in Block 8 of the
Lucas addition was to be checked for an� u��lity lines, that may
be in the alley right-of-way. This was�c�one ]a�efore any decision
could be made in closing this alley.
A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Harwell to approve
the following rules for the Civic Center operation:
1 . No smoking for the "Teen Club".
2. Persons using the building will be responsible for building
and equipment.
4. No drinking of Alcoholic beverages at any time .
. All reservationd shall be made through the City Hall .
5. Fees to help with the ,janitorial services will be as follows:
a. A fee of �10 .00 will be charged for private parties and
�5.00 will be returned if the Building is cleaned and the
equipment is left in good condition. 'I�va dollars a�� the
fee will be used by the City to help take care of the
Utilities for the building .

b. Civic Glubs will pay �5.00 f or use of the Civic Center,
and if used regular2y during the �onth the charges wi2l
be �10.00 per month. Each group using the Civic Center
wi22 be respansible for the cleaning of th� building.
6. Parties using the bui2ding will be responsible for turntng
off the llghts, gas, locking the building , and returning the
key ta the City HaZl.
A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Hayward to accept
the p2ans far remodeling the Cit� Hal �, and the hiring af 3. B.
Daniels to do the labor by the week. This is to be approved as t�
the lega2ity of hiring a cargenter by the hour or by the week. The
total amaunt to be spent is not to exceed $20,000.00 including
Air Condition and heating. Motion carried.
