The City Cauncil met in regular session on the abvve date those
present were Mayar �Johnsan and Aldermen Woods, Pirkle . Partker, and
Deacon. Alderman Harwell being absent.
The mimut�s af the previaus meetings was read an.d approved as read.
Mr. Woolw�aver met with the council askirzg that Barton Street
narth af Nc�rthwest Hwy. be opened. The stree� was to be laoked
into and see if this is still a City street, the county records
were to be checked ta see ff this street has been turned back ta the
property awners on each side. Mr. Woolweaver was to be advised of
these findings.
The Mayor gave his finding in reference to the water drainage
along Estill Street at the east end. It watzld not be practical
ta cut a ditch on each s3de c►f Estill Street arid drain the water
to Wood Street as their is not enaugh fal2 to dra�n the water
properly. N!r. Rabert Brawn owner of the property ,just South of
the Assembly t�f God church on Texas street was to be asked to
curb and gutter his propeah� so as ta prevent any water coming
from Texas street across Mr. Brown� s praperty �.nd flowing OTltb
the East end of Esti11 Street. Alst� Dr. Pittard was ta be cantacted
i�, reference to Curb and guttering his �roperty on Texas to help
� prevent the f2ow t�f water anto neighboring pr4perty.
A m�ation by Alderman Deacan, seconded by Aiderman Pirkle nat to
use City equipment and personnel to mow private property. Motion
carried.
Discussinn was given on the City and the Clamber of Commerce
representatives to go to Aust�n artd meet with Atlr, Greer of the
Highway department asking that Highway 121 be extended inta
Grapevine. This was ta be done t,his month as t�ther County
Officials will ga to Austin this month to ask fcrr Hirghways in
Tarrant Gounty.
A resnlution for the placing of "No Parking'' signs on the south
side of the Fire Station was tabled unti2 the next meeting, same
being September 18, 1962.
A motion by Alderrnan Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Woods to set the
2962 tax rate at �1 .00 per �240.C}4 valuatiart. Moti �n carried as
Urdinance No. 62-3.

' A moti �n by Alderman Deacon, seconded by Alderman Pirkle to
accept the bid of Ted Arendale Ford Sales of �2,573.30 for a
1962 Ford F-6C�0 Truck. Motion carried.
Mr. Ted Willhoite was contacted and has no ob,�ections of placing
an Air Conditi�ner in the Library Building.
The dog problem was discussed.
Countil agreed the City Hall will not be used for any kind of
meetings except C�uncil meeting or City business only.
Discussion was given on moving the City equipment to the ���gx
water tower lot and cleaning up around the water pump station.
Also the school was to be contacted in reference ti6 the City
trying to buy the School lot on Barton stre� for an equipment lot.
Alderman Woods suggested that a decision be reached in reference
to the ';ity having a Master Plan made of Grapevine. Also ask
T. P.L. , Lone Star Gas Co. and Telephone Co. to meet with the
City Council and Mr. Gene Schrickel and Mr. Bradford to discuss
this Master Plan at the next meeting, September 18, 1962.
Adlerman Woods asked that something or some action be taken in
� trying to get the colored people to come into the City and clean
up t�e area they now live in, by havng Mr. H. L. Higgens and
the County Commissioner to contact the colored people about
dedicating a road so that it may be graveled and black topped
and cleaning up the area and securing a legal description of their
property and petitioning the City properly for annexation.
