The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Johnson, Hldermen Harwell, rarker, rirkle ,
Deacon, and Woods.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read,
The official ballot for the Apri 1 2, ig63 City Election was
approved by the council .
Bids were received for a booster type Fire �pparatus to be placed
on the City truck chassis as per specifications are as follows:
1. United Interstate Equipment Co.

Mr. Martin with United Interstate Equipment Co. told the
council before the bids were opened that if the City selected
a 750 gallon tank for the truck to take �300.00 from his bid
as the engineering has been done on a 750 gallon tank and he
would pass this saving on to th� dty.

No decision was made on the bids at this time , more study was
to be given on these bids for chassis and fire apparatus. May�or
and Secretary was to clear up some items listed in the two Ford
Chassis bids.
x;.motion by �lderman Deacnn, seconded by alderman rirkle to buy the
1947 Ford Station Wagon from Mr. F,arl Yates for the sum of �450.00
to be used in the Fire Department. Mution carried.
t� motion by Alderman Harwell, seconded by �lderman Deacon to try
and work out some agreement with the Corps of Engineers on building
a Ball Diamond on Lake property in the park area leased to the City
for the Little Leagueer baseball . Motion carried .
H motion by Alderman Harwell, seconded by AZderman Deaco n to
spet�d �250.00 of the rard Fund money to help enlarge the public
parking area near Silver Lake Enterprises Boat Docks. Moti �n carried.
ti sealed proposal from Mays 8 Mays �ttorney at Laws to act in the
capacity of City Attorney for the City of Graperine, a retainer fee
of $75.00 per month, trave 1$lg expenses of lOr� per mi le and that
such services as are rendered to the City will be charged ir�
accordance with the fee schedule as set out by the Fort u�orth-
Tarrant County Bar Association.
Mr. Hines, acting City Attorney at present, has agreed to a fee
of �s0.00 per month, plus lodging if he has �o be out of town.
Arid if it requires a complete day from his office he will charge
�25.00 a day and if the c3ty is in a l�rw suit he will charge
�xtra f or this.

Mr. John Telford ask the council to consider lowering his rental
charge from 5.5� to 3.5% of the gross income.
H motion by tilderman Harwell , seconded by alderman rirkle to
recommend to the Corps of �ngineers that The Hnchor had been
very prompt with their payments and very cooperative in prefTorm—
ing their duties as a renter and the City would recommend that
their rent be lowered from 5.5� to 3.5� to conform more with the
other concessionaires in this area. Motion carried.
Discussion was given on combining the City and�chool tax offices,
but this was tabled so more study may be given�this before any
action could be taken.
The Mayor ask the City Secretary to excuse himself from the council ,
room for � few minutes, upon returning to the co uncil room, Alderman
Woods made a motion which was seconded by Alderman t'irkle to raise
City Secretary Floy Ezell salary to �7, 800.00 per year effective
�april 1, 1963. Motion carried unanimnusly.
Discussion was given on opening the Street just west of the
Cannon Elementary school, Dellwood Drive . The school is not in
favor of paying f or any part of the construction of the street,
they have more or less agreed to pay for the curb and gutter on
side of the street ad�joir�ing the school property. This matter
was tabled for additional information.
