May 7, 1963
` The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, t�lderman Parker, Vandeventer, Huber,
Pirkle , and Benedict.
Minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved as read.
H motion by Hlderman Pirkle to app�ove the appointment of Dr.
Joe Allison as City He�h Officer, seconded by Hl�lerman Huber,
motion carried by Hldermen Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer,
and Parker voting yes with no noes.
Mayor Woods read a letter from Mr. John Francisco asking the City
to consent to or waive the issuance of a building permit for the
constructi �n of a car port at his home in the Box �dditiom.
tilderman Benedict made a motion to authorize Mayor Woods to sign
the letter consenting to the issuance of a building permit to Mr.
John Francisco.
H motion by �lderman Pirkle , seconded by Hlderman Yarker to table
this matter of authorizing the mayor to sign or consent to the
issurdnce of a building permit to Mr. Francisco until a legal
opinion may be gotten. Motion carried by �ldef�man Yarker, Vandeventer,
� gluber, and Pirkle voting yes and �lderman Benedict not voting.
Mayor Woods introduc�d Mr, Cribbs and his partner Mr. Bondarant,
attorneyts at law, to the council . These men were interviewed by
the council for the position of City �ttorney.
Mr. Cr�bbs and Bondarant agreed to take the position for a trial
basis of three months by a retainer fee of �50.00 per month plus
an additinnal charge for any extra work done during this period.
Council ' infformed Mr. Cribbs and Bondarant they would be notified
the dicision of the council .
Mayor Woods informed the council that the Jaycees have officially
turned the maintenance of the the City Park back to the City.
Secretary went ouer the finanicial statement of the city for the
first 7 months of the year with the Council in reference to our
inco me and expenditures for this period.
Salary increases for the ladies working in the City Hall was
discussed.
� motion by tilderman Pirkle, seconded by Hlderman Yarker to
authori2e Texas Power and Light Co. to install a Street light
along Forrest St. and Lipscomb Street. Motinn aarried by Hldermen
Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle , and Benedict voting yes with no
noes.

The council ask that the 15 MPH speed zone signs be put up around
the school as per our Resolution.
t�pplication for work in the public works department wds gone over
and a Moti�n by Hlderman Parker, seconded by Hlderman Benedict to
hire George Dearing at 1119 Valley Vista Dr. , Grapevine, Texas,
if satisfactory with Jesse Williamson, at a starting salary of
�250.00 per month. Moti�n carried by �ldermen Parker, Vandeventer,
Huber, Pirkle, and Benedict voting yes with no noes.
No further business meeting adjourned.
