The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Parker, Vandeventer, Pirkle,
and Benedict. Hlderman Huber being absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
Alderman Parker and Pirkle reported that they had contacted Mr.
Joe Tindle and Mr. Cbrence Long who own property along the Tarrant
and Dallas County li�e and they are agresable to bringing ia part
of their land into the City Limits of Grapevine . The City Nttorney
is in the process of drawing up the necessary papers for the
property owners to sign asking to be brought into the City.
The Police Committee reported that they were not in favor of hiring
Mr. Lloyd Gray as a part time policeman and at thi:s time had nothing
else to report.
Mayor Woods suggested to the council that they consider employing
an outside man that has had experience in Police Work to make a
study of our Police Depar��ment and report his finding to the council.
Discussion was given on the possibilities of placing two-way radio�s
that are set on 37. 180 mg. in the patrol cars so the patrolman may
contact Dallas 50, Irving, and other cities that are on this
frequency. Circle-Central Communication has offered to loan the
city two radiots to use in the cars on a trial basis and the only
charge will be the installation which is �30.00 for each unit and
monthly maintenance charge of �6.75 for each unit.
The council viewed the proposal of Morris Parker �ssociates in
regard to preparing a Master Plan for the City.
Alderman Pirkle made a motion to accept Henningson, Durham, and
Richardson proposalin preparing a master plan for the City for a
total fee of $7,500.00. The State paying 2/3 of the cost and the
City paying the remaining 1/3. Also authori2ing the City Secretary
to execute the necessary papers in behalf of the City. Also have
the company representative to explain in detail the contract to
the council at the next council meeting on Hug�st 6, 1963. Alderman
Benedict seconded this moti�n and passed unanimously by Aldermen
Benedict, Pirkle, Vandeventer, and Parker voting �es with no noes.
A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Vandeventer to
pass and approve Resolution R63-11 and R63-12 on the errecting of
stop signs, Yield Right of way signs and designating certain
streets to be one-way at certain hours and days. Motion carried
by Aldermen Parker, Vandeventer, Pirkle, and Benedict voting yes
with no noes.
No further business meeting ad3ourned.
