The City Council met in a call session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Benedict , Pirkle , Huber, '
Vandeventer and Yarker.
Mr. Esslinger and Mr. Allen of the 5euthwestern States Telephone
Co. met with the council to present a proposal of combining
The Grapev ine exchange with the Lewisville exchange and each
city could dial the other without a toll charge, although the
rates would be raised �3.00 per month for single linebusinsss
phones and �1 .50 per month for single line residents.
This proposal was discussed and other suggetions was ma�e to the
telephone company in reference to connecting the City with Irving,
Ft. Worth and Dallas with direct disling. '
No action was taY�en on this proposal frmm the Telephone Co.

A motion by Nldermar�Huber, seconded by Alderman Benedict to
adopt a resolutinn authori2ing a summer water rate to be used during
the months of June , July and Aug�st for residential u�ers to en—
courage the home owner or dweller to use more wat�r to beautifying
his lawn and flower garden with less ex�ense by being able to use
more water at a reduced rates. The rates are as follows :
Minimum of 3000 gallons �4.50
4000 gallons 5.00
500o gallons 5.50
6000 gallons 6.00
7000 gallons 6.50
N11 over 7000 galb ns at .30� per thousand gallons.
This is to go into effect with the June billing . Motion carried
by Alderman Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and BQnedict voting
yes with no noes.
