�he City �ouncil met in regular session on the abeve date those present
were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Vandventer , Huber, Pirkle and Benedict.
A1dePman Parker being absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and corrected as follows:
lhat an 8" water line would be layed from the fitersection of Hudgin
street with Ball street to across the Raiiroad property or south of
the railroad crossing on Ball street. With this corrections the minutes
stand approved as read.
A motion by Alderman Vandeventer, seconded by �lderman Benedict to
amend Section 3 of Ordinance �6 dated l�th day of April 1939 to read
as follows: Section 3 - It shall be unlawful for any person to own,
keep or use within the corporate limits of this city, any pen or
enclosure within whi�h hides, cattle or other animals are kept with
the following exceptions; A private stable will be allowed on a lot
having an area of more than twenty thousand (20,000) square feet,
provided that it is located not less than one hundred ( 100) feet from
the f ront lot line, not less than thirty (30) feet from any side or
rear lot line. On such lots there shall not be kept more than one
horse, pony, mule , sheep or goat for each ten thousand ( 10,000) square
feeL of lot area, �a�x0�a or one cow for each twenty thousand (20,000)
sqaure feet of lot area. Motion carried by �lderman Benedict, Pirkle,
Huber and Vandeventer voting yes with no noes.
Mr. L. L. Post talked to the cnuncil about rezoning lots 6 � 7 im
Block 2 of Hilltop �►ddition from "B" to "C & D" dwelling.
As no recommendation had been made by the Pi�nning and Zoning Board
on rezoning this lot, Aiderman Benediet made a motir�n which was
seconded by Nlderman Pirki� to xaaeRx approve the 2oning change
of lots 6 & 7 in Block 2 of the Hilitop addition from "B" dwelling
to "C E� D" dwelling as had been requested by Mr. Post. Mo�on
carried by Alderman Benedict, Pirkle, Huber and Vandeventer votirtg
yes with no noe�.
Council authorized the issuance of a building permit to Mr. Post
only upon the plan� that are now in the possession of the City
Secretary. And if permit is requested upon any other plans they
will be referred t� the City Councfl for their consideration.
�►lso requested that the plans and the building be completed in a
reasonable length of time.
Mr. Jess Stockstili and Mr. Hamps Sc rug�s explained and requested
the approval of the City to organize a ifle Club that would affiliate
with Lhe ATational Rif� Hssociation so as to receive arms and aQUnuni-
tion from the Federal Government to help in the operation of the
club.
ti motion by Alderman Pirkle seconded by Alderman Benedict to pass
and approve Resolution R64-�, authorizing the organizing of a
Grapevine Police Auxiliary which would afFiliate with Ntinonal Rifle
Association so as to qualify for Federal aid in furnishing Arms
and ammunition to be used by the organization in practicing with
pistols and rifles. Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle,
Huber and Vandeventer voting yes with no noes. This orgznization would
be under the supervision of the Gra pevine City Conncii .
Discussion was given on the sanitar.y condition of the houses on E.
Hudgins and that one house ia likely in the street, Terreil street, :
along with a fence north of Hudgins and also in Terreli street.
Discussi�n was given on the State �tighway Department canceling the '
designation of the old location of State Highway 114 Qran the �junctton
of New State Highway 11l� to the Dall�s County line.
A motion by Aiderman Pirkie, seconded by Aldermen Benedict to pass
and adopt Resolution R64-7 authorizirig the erection of the following
S1UP SIGNS:
Stop on E. College at th� intersection of S. Main Street
Stop on Ruth STreet at its intersectbn of E. Wall street
Stop on Eckley street at its intersection of E. Wail street
Stop on Azalea Dr. with its intersecti�n of W. Wall street
Stop on the north and south side of Ruth �treet with its
inter section with E. Worth street.
1Wo-way traCfic be permitted on Ridge Road by deleting
Part "E" under section 2 of Resolution R63-12 dated the
16th day of July 1963.
Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle , Huber and Vandeventer
votfig yes with no noes.
