The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, A1dePmen Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle
and Benedict. Alderman Parker being absent.
The minut es of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
The Planning and Zoning Commission submitted thzir recommendations
on rezoning Mrs W. W. Hod�es, Lot 14 in Block 6 of the Lucas
Addition from "A" to "C-D' IDwelling and Mr. �+. G. Cullins requested
that his lot in Block 22 of the Dooley Survey be re2oned from
"B" to '�H" Central Business. The board disapproved these request.
A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Huber to accept
the Zoning Boatds recommendations and to disapprove the request
for rezoning Lot 14 in Block 6 of the Lucas Addition and the lot
in Block 22 of the llooley Survey. Motion carried by Aldermen
Benedict, Pirkle , Huber and Vandeventer voting yes with no noes.
Dr. Ed. Lancaster gave a report on the Tennis Association indebtness
and ask the council to appropriate $500.00 to help pay the indebtness
incurred by building the tennis courts.
Mr. Bob Hendricks and Mr . Dub Tillery ask the council to help in
someway to help prevent the water from crossing and running onto
t�eir property along Ridge Road .
Mr. Cribbs ask permission to put a butane service station along
Highway 114 at the Mark III buiLdiig. The council ha� no ob�ection
to this service station if it does not effect the insurance rate
of the city in any way. Secretary was to contact State Board of
Insurance and see if it effects the city insurance rate.
Discussion was given about the Grapevine Concrete Co. entering
Highway 121 near the underpass and carrying mud and �irt onto
the highway which may cause an accident. Highway departmetlt was
to be contacted.
A motion by Alderman Vandeventer, secndded by Alderman Benedict
to pay the last �500.00 of the Tennis Association indebtness on
the tennis courts in the Park. This amount to be paid after all
other indebtness has been paid . '?otion carried by Aldermen
Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle arld Bet�edict voting yes with no noes.
Leslie Hill proposal to reloacte one of the streets in Sunshine
Harbor and do away with some other streets was re,jected by the
City Council .
A motion by �lderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Huber to employ
Parish and Murrell Accountants and Audit�rs to audit the City
records for the year 1963-64. Motion carried by Alderman
Benedict, Pirkle, Huber and Uandeventer voting yes with no noes.
Secretary was to contact Mr. Robert Lipscomb in reference to the
City securing approximately 31 acres nf their land for a City Park.
A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seco�ded by Alderman Benedict to
adopt Ordinance # 64-19 placing the Cityts Primary and Fire Zones
in the City. Complete Ordinance on file in the City Official
Ordinance books. Moti �n carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle,
Hu�er and Ya�a�� Vandeventer voting yes with no noes.
No further business meeting adjourned.
