The City C ouncil met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle, Huber and
Vandeventer. Alderman Parker being absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
Mayor was to contact the �ounty Commissioners asd ask that they
execute a deed to the C� ty for their 1�3 interest in the City
Park loca ted on the corner of Ball and Wall street.
A motio n by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Huber to accapt
the Zoning Boards reccommendations and to approve the rezoning
of approximately 1 acre of land in Tract 5A of the Foster Survey,
formerly owned by Mr. Clayton Biggers, from "A" Dwelling to "L"
Manufacturing . Motion carried by Alderaran Vandeventer, Huber,
Pirkle and Benedict votipg yes with no noes.
The proposals from Burroughs Corp. and National Cash Register Co.
on a business machine for the City Office was discussed by the
Couqcil and the 5ecrttary was to check on some actual oper�tions
of these maehiAes used by other Cities.
Plans was to be drawn on the proposed Folice Station and Water
Department building to be located ,just north of the present
Fire Station.
A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Benedict to
publish in the local paper the Ordinance requirfng vehicles to
park on the right hand side of the street will be strictley
enforced along Main street , Jenkins street, Barton street, and
all cross connecting streets between Highway 114 and Franklin
street. Motion carried by Aldermen Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle
and Benedict voting yes with no noes.
