The City Council of the City of Grape rune met in regular session
on the above date. Those present were Mayor Ti Johnson Alderman

Matthews, Harwell , Kaker, and Deacon. Alderman Hayward berg absent.
Mr. Toga Tatum met with the Council to discuss the dog situation,
and ask that something be doneabout the dogs around town. The
City will put a notice in the paper that the dog Ordinance No.57-13
wi11 be enforced from now on. Also a dart gun is to be rented to
to used to catch the dogs running at large.
Mr. Ashton at 822 E. Mall strett m t with the council and asked
that something be done so he may be able to get in and out of his
drive gray until the curb and gutter can be put down at his house.
The Council assured Mr. Ashton that a temporary tile will be put
in at his place until the curb and gutter work is dome.
The final plat of Ridge Crest Estates was presented to the Council .
The Zoning Board has approved this and a motion by Alderman Ha e l l
seconded by Alderman Matthews to accept the final plat of Ridge
'eest Estates as presented of Bloch 1 , 2, and 3. Motion carried.
A motion by Alderman Kaker seconded by Alderman Harwell to accept
r. Bobichols, City Engineers, proration of cost of the sewer line
hru Dellood Acres addition. (Copy attached) Cameron Lumber Co.
and the Deacons will pay for the sewer lime thru Block 2 and 6 as
per cost set out by Mr. LNichols plus a 7�% engineering fee when
they tie on to this line or by January 1 , 1962, whichever comes
first. Also the Deacons will pay for Block 8 as set out plus a
7 -% engineering fee when lime is completed. The city will pay for
the cost of the line to the developers property. A contract to
be drawn up for the Deacons and Cameron Lumber to agree with
this, Motion carried.
A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Matthews to
accept the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO LONE STAR GAS COMPANY. A CORPORATION,
ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, A FRANCHISE TO FURNSIH AND 'SUPPLY
GAS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TARRANT
COUNTY, TEXAS, AND THE ENVIRONS THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE
PAYMENT OF A FEE OR CHARGE FOR THE USE OF THE STREETS, ALLEYS
AND PUBLIC WAYS, AND PROVIDING THAT IT SHALL BE IN LIEU OF
OTHER FEES AND CHARGES, EXCEPTING AD VALOREM TAXES.

carried.

Complete Ordinance on file in the ty's Ordinance book, motion carried,
motion by Alderman Deacon, seconded by Alderman la well to set up
the following street specifications for replacing City Streets to
the original condition, fora, and shape:
Street excavation will carry a minimum charge o 0.00 and a
maximum charge of 11.00 per running foot, for digging into the
streets, wbicAever is greater. Also anyone digging into the streets
will be required to back.; fill the ditch with sand jetted to within
6" o.f .toe street .level and they will not be Permitted to use any
of dirt removed back in the ditch. Also they notify the City just
as soon as this is done. City will put the gravel an6 black top
in place upon completion of the above rec irments. ! potion carried.
motion by Alderman Matthews, seconded by Alderman Farwell to
aband the alley in Block 30 of the Grapevine ;purvey, between lots
2 and 3, t is i between Robert Sta.rk's and L. T. ,emmons, and
to revert back to the abutting property owners if no utility :rive
is in this alley. Motion carried.
Two bids for laying the water and sewer lines to the Waldrop
Heights .factory site was received and are as follows:

This is composed of the City furnishing the 6" cast iron water
pipe, the 6" c , y sewer laze pipe, manhole rings and covers,
fire hydrate , 6" cross or tee , and the 6" gate valve for the
water line. The City € ill. furnish ravel or sand reouired for
backfilling in crossing tb e streets. All work to be done acc.ordin
to City Specifications and requirements.
A motion by Alderman Deacon, seconded by alderman Kaker to a
authorize the Mayor to let t .e contract to the person who may
comply with all of the City requirement. Motion carried.

i The Council authorized the spending o $ 00.00 to regravel the
roads to Fishing Barge and the road to the Anchor. This is to
e spent out of the Park Fund for improvements. Mayor Johnson
and Alderman Kaker to look over the lake site for places to
i prove the picnic areas or create additional picnic areas around
the like with the help of the U. S. Corp of Engineers.
Alderman Kaker gave the council a report on the progress of the
tax appraisal program now in progress. The tax cards will be
finished by May 1961 .
A public meeting will be held on March 21 , 1961 at the Civic Center
at :30 PM to get the opinions of the citizens of Grapevine in
reference to the City taping over the Garbage program. This is
to advertized in the Grapevine Sun.
Letters were to be written to Mr. J ck Belcher and Mr. Nappie
Thompson in reference to cleaning up around their places or
trash Ordinance 57-19 will be enforced with a fine.
Mr. Bob Nichols was to be contacted and asked to write a letter
so advising the advantages of having curb & Gutter to prolong
the life of the blck topped streets to not having curb and gutter
to protect the streets.
A motion by Alderman Ka.ker, seconded by Alderman Matthews to
authorize the spending o 30.000.00 out of the General Fund
to rework and retop additional streets in the City . Mot6on
carried. Mayor was to work out the streets to be black-topped
with Uvalde Construction Co.

At the request of Hr. Floyd Deacon we have made an additional break-
down of the construction cost to serve :block 2 in the Dellwood Acres
Addition® In are earlier letter we indicated that the construction
cost to provide a 6" service from Station 0+00 to Station 7+15 as
shown on the contract plans for Contract No. 6 would be $1,694.25.
10. Deacon requested that we further divide this segment of the line
into two parts, that section of the line across the Lowe property and,
that part across William Cameron's property in Block 2® This division
is as follows: _
