Mayor Tip Johnson, Councilmen Harold Kaker, A1 Harwell , Norris Graham, Doyle Dalton, and City Secretary Rogers. Councilman Rodney Shelton was absent. The minutes of previous meeting was read and approved. �� Mr. W. C. Haws, lessee of Rod and Reel Grapevine Lake property, met � with the Council and discussed delinqu2nt commission due the City � a � on 1959 earnings. The date January 31st was set and agreed on by the Council and Mr. Haws as final date of payment. The above was � �--� made a motion by Harold Kaker and seconded by Al Harwell . All vot�d Yes. � Fire �hief J. C. All voted Yes. T�e sub�ject of a rate increase ; was discussed and tabled until a further date. � � � A motion was made by Doyle Dalton, seconded by .A�!orris Graham that Ctty renew the contract with Thompson - Hayward Chemical Company r f for chlorine for the year 1960 . All voted Yes. The present location of a fence bzlonging to Mrs. Tom James at location near the property' designated Filtration Plant�was dis- cussed. Council instructed MaB�Johnson to get information on this and report back. A final statement from the Motorola people of �22L�.00, claimed due them on contract t�rith the City was read. Council position on � this is that Motorola has not acted in good faith, and that the least they should do is to help the City get the 50� Countyfs share portion "Civil Defense'}. City Secretary to get a letter to Notorola on this subject. The sub�ject of the City paying for the installation of a crossing rrcan or flume't for and at the new Methodist Church parsonage was reconsidered and discussed. �ouncil is of same opinion - unable to g�ant the request. A request by the Silver Lake, Inc. £or permission to make �neqotiable and transferrable their lease agreement with the City so as to use same as security for a loan consideration at Bank. Motion made by Doyle Dalton seconded by A1 Harwe2l . All voted Yes. A motion was made by Doyle Dalton, seconded by �orris Graham, that the parking area be left as is on Main street, All councilmen voted yes. � _ � _ A motaan was made by Couneilman �aker, seconded by Councilman Harwell that a contract be award�d ,�-���--F�-�-� ����-�-}L� � for the sum of �?Q8.44 ta put in a corzcrete a�� 3o x 23 feet in ,304 block East Franklin Street. All voted Yes - motian adopted. Motion was made by Doyle Dalton, seconded by Haro].d Kaker to i.ncrease Jim Hancock�s �alary a� water superintendent to .�400.00 per month, after a full discussion of the job being dane by the Water Superintendent. 2he majority of the Councilmen expressed the opinio.n the raise in salary was r��t justified at the present time , 2he v4te was, �'or rais� - 2.
