� The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Tip Johnson, Alderman A1 Harwell , Travis
Matthews, Harold Kaker , and Ed . Hayward, Alderman Deacon being
absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and the following �
was to be added to the minutes of November 1 , 1960 : A motion �
by Alderman Hayward to re�ject the rate proposal of the South- .
western S�ates Telephone Co. , no action was take,n on this motion. C

Some of the bids included alternate bids and was bid by the �,
lineal foot so all bids was to be reviewed and ,�`p►°' successful
bidder was to be notifie�? if the bids were acce�ted. The Mayor
was authorized by the Council to work out any discrepancies
or questions on this work with the contractors and also was �
authori2ed to put concrete crossing where needed.
There were fiv� companies here to bid on the �100,000.00
street bonds: for the interest rate : the following companies
were present:

i The low bidder on the intrerest for these bonds was The
„ Dittmar & Co. with a bid of 3.545. ,
A motion by Alderman Kaker , seconded by Alderman Harwell to ,
accept the Dittmar & Co. bid of 3.5�}.5 for the $100,000.00
stre�t bonds, motion carried.
Amotion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Hayward to '
' authorize the issuance of �100,000 .00 , City of Grapevine , Texas,
' Street Improvement bonds, Series 1960 , motion carried.

Ordinance No. 60�13 for the issuance of �1�0 ,000.�0 street
improvements, series 1960 is more fully de�ribed �B Ordinance
No. 60-13 in Ordinance book. �
N,ayor was to contact his attornies and have an ordinance drawn ;
up to �ravent the public from stopping drain ditches with gravel i
and other things to prevent the water from draining properly and I
to have a psnalty for the violation of this or�inance. Drain ;
tile to be used for driveways so the water ma� flow in the ditches �
and not on the streets. After the ordinance has been completed by i
the attornies the counc; '. will go over this and make any necessary
changes that may arise ' before passage of ordinance .

Discussion was given on the problem of drainage on the streets.
City is considering installing the tile for driveways with the '
customer paying for lthe tile in advance . Secretary was to get
prices of the tile from 6" thru 18" in size . A definite solution .
' will be worked out for this work. F
A motion by Ald2rman Hayward , seconded by Alderman Kaker to
accept the petition of H. E. Myers and Martel 1VIyers, a tract of �
?.78 acres be accepted and annexed into the City Limits of

Alderman Kaker and Water Supertien�lent Jim Hancock was to get '�
an estimate of the cost of running water to thn City Park for h
watering shrubery and for drinking purposes as requested by the
Garden Club. �
A motion by AdldErman Kaker , seconded by AldPrman Hayward for
the City to curb and gutter the alley opening if the property '+
, owners on each side of the alley curb and gutter their property. , ;
Motion carried. '
