The City Council of the City of Grapevine met in a call session
on the above d�te, at the First National BanY, Grapeviae, those ;
present were Mayor Tip Johnson, Alderman Kaker, Hayward, Matthe�s, j
Deacon, and�,Harwell . Mr. Powell , of the Uvalde Construction Co. ;
of Dallas, lexas was present. ;

The Street program was discussed with P.�r. Powell in reference to i
his bid submitted by his company on November 10, 1960. Mr. i
Powell agreed for his company, Uvalde Construction Co. , to furnish j
a minimum of L�000 cubic yards of base materials on the streets ,
that were to be reworked and resurfaced ss per specifications. '
A motion by Alderman Harwell , seconded by Alferman Hayward to
use crushed stone in place of the pea gravel for the �E�ISp�a//�i� '
material on the streets, motion carried by a unanimous vote . !
A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Deacon to accept I
the bid of the Uvalde Construction of Dallas, Texas, of °,?�71�,785.02, '
to rework and resurface the streets as per bid received, motion ,
carried by a unanimous vote . ,
A verbal wor}c order was given to Mr. Powell to begin work immediate-
ly, a letter of acceptance will be given to his Company November

A motion by Alderrr�an Harwell , seconded by Alderman Matthews to
pass the following ordinance , effective at once . The ordinance caption '
reads as follows :

PROHIBITING THE TH?�OWING, DEP05ITING OP PERMITTING '
TRASH, DIR.T, SAND, GRAVEL , DEAD CARCASSES, SLOP OR
OTHER OBNOXIOUS MATTER IN, ON OR UPON ANY PUBLIC
�TREET OR ALLEY WITHIN THE CITY LIPJ'ITS OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXA.S; PROVIDING � PENALTY THEREFOR
AND A FINE OP. NOT LESS TH�1N �5.00 NOR MORE THAN

t�rtotion carried by a unanimous vote . The complete ordiartce is
filed in the Ordinance books as Ordinance No. 60-15.
In reference to laying the water and sewer lines to the proposed
factory site of r��r. Waldrop� s south of town on the H. E. Myers
land. A motion by Alderman Hayward , seconded by Alderman Deacon
for the City to pay one-half the cost of the water and sewer
lines which will be approximately �4, 100.00� total cest, and
� N?r. Waldrop to pay the other half with a refunding contract on
water for a period of five years. IU�otion carried.

The council reviewed the bills foom Freese , Nichols, and Endress
Engineers in refer�nce to their charges for Engineering services
also the estimates subm�ttted to the City by Fre�se , Nich�ls ,
Endress on the amount of the work and material that the contractors
have done on their contracts on the water and sewer improvement
program. Coi-ncil agreed to pay the bills but to contact Nr.
Nichols and go over thESe char�es with him.
